My LLMD is willing to treat me clinically for babs, I seem to have many if not most of the sx..but he also suggested I might want to get my testing done thru Igenex - IgG, IgM and RNA = $308.

How sensitive is their testing? If he's willing to treat me clinically is it worth spending that $$?

This feeling of being on a VERY rocky boat, dizziness, sweats (daytime), shivering, diff swallowing, air hunger are driving me craaaazy!

Any feedback greatly appreciated!!!

Not very. At least since the last time I checked. Igenex Babesia test is better than any out there but it's still not as good as their Western Blot for Lyme. I'm biased. My Babesia was negative through Igenex, but my Western Blot was positive. With babesia therapy I'm improving (I wasn't on antibiotics while on Babesia therapy).

It's a cost issue for most. If someone has Medicare, then I say get it. If they don't, it's really best to follow their own gut and the advice of their LLMD.

I have the same boat rocking dizziness and occasional night sweats.

I had a negative FISH test a year ago, I posted a similar question to the board last night.

I will follow this to see what suggestions come up.

Not very.

I guess it depends upon how much money you have, want to spend.

If he's going to treat you anyway... not much point unless you really need a test result to confirm for YOU that you have babesia.

Sounds like you're already convinced!

Thanks all. Kitty, I did read your post which inspired to post this - just can't get over how not even holding onto walls helps...

Yes, I am convinced and perhaps will forgo the testing for now, I guess it's a psychological thing at least for me. As sensitive I am to meds I'd probably be a bit less scared knowing I HAD babs rather than a *suspicion* of it...

I've not even treated for a year (no full doses) and already have treatment fatigue...actually illness fatigue. Sorry y'all, just venting. [Frown]

It does make life difficult. I am with you on wanting a positive test- it is validation and helps with the unknown, especially with such an expensive drug- Mepron!!!
