I am feeling really amped up and edgy and the only thing I have added is low dose EDTA (200mg) orally with my nattokinase, for biofilms.

Could the EDTA be responsible? What is a metals herx like? I think I will take some chlorella now.

I am taking detoxamin for heavy metals. It's a suppository. I take it every other night and for the past 3 nights i felt that whenever i take it and if i wake up in the middle of the night it's an amazing feeling i actually feel symptom free.

Then when i get up and start up the day i feel the symptoms come back.

I am not sure if it's helping or i am just like that. dont know.

to answer your question i havent felt any herx.

Because I did not know what I was doing, EDTA nearly did me in. - I took the Detoxamin suppository, too. but had a completely opposite experience form sonee. Others have reported good results Detoxamin and their have been some, too, who have rough experiences with it.

I will say, that the very first time I used it, I awoke the next day with a very clear brain. I was so disappointed it changed.

But, don't give up. Just be sure you have all your pieces in place. This should not be used alone as it can mobilize metals and create recirculation rather than just capture them.

Yes, a binder is very important but all that complexity has just been too much for my brain to grasp. You might search for past posts by GiGi or "heavy metals" threads.

This should also help:

Keebler why do you think that happened?

And how long did you give it?

As for why I had the reactions I did (on repeated trials with Detoxamin, seizure threshold was severely lowered) . . . I'm not sure but I think it is not enough by itself.

I also deal with two kinds of porphyria and my liver support may have been lacking in that regard.

I will say that I've done VERY well tolerating DMSA - every other day for short times. Amazingly, I've had no reactions to that. But, I know I need to learn more to be sure I've not left loose ends.

I am no expert on the heavy metal stuff. I know just enough to know that it's very tricky. I do hope you find what you need. Others may come along with more concise answers and links but Klinghardt really has done the most work in this area.

While not at all about lyme, in addition to Klinghardt work and whatever else GiGi or Marnie have posted on this, you might check out articles about this at this site:

==========

I know we can't all get FAR infrared low heat saunas, but sweating in a warm bath (with epson salts) can help. Not too hot bath, but warm. Too much heat can really cause a set-back.

Good luck.

Keebler,

I am scared now. How did it nearly kill you? Symptom wise or something actually happened or some tests showed something?

Yes i am combining it with bolouke. It is suppose to increase circulation. These two products were rx for me to break down the biofilms that my LLMD thinks is the cause for no progress.

Chelation for heavy metals seems to amplify my lyme meds. At one point it also seemed to make me over emotional to put it mildly.

I didn't anticipate it to be that difficult. Apparently it's common according to my LLMD. I am still pushing through as I think it's an important part for recovery.

I am on KPU if that is relevant.

Sonee,

It seems to be working for you. As I mentioned, for some it works well but others can have serious effects. All methods for heavy metal detox warrant caution.

For me - way more seizures and much more severe - from EDTA. But that will not be the case for everyone. It was just a caution so that people know to read up on heavy metal detox and have a full protocol.

You have a LLMD guiding you and you seem to handle it well. I see no reason for you to worry. Glad it's working out okay.

I tend to have severe reactions to things that are very easily tolerated for most. Because I don't want others (who may also be sensitive) to go through that, I just felt it important to mention it.

I dunno really WTF "herx" is and whether it is caused by heavy metals or something else. I can share experience after unsafe amalgam removal(it was just one at that point) and DMSA challenge test - I dunno whether it was caused by any of those events but symptoms accured shortly after that:

Extreme neuropathy (tingling burning ,crawling
Balance issue
Vision Issue
Brain concentration, focus etc much worse than before

Could been just lyme flare up though.

I definitely felt like a melting brain feeling or squeezing brain. ALA and NAC are disasterous for me. I take chelex when I remember. In the beginning I would notice a difference in the morning but now its very subtle. Leads to believe, hopefully they are getting knocked back.
