Yale is researching the makings for a new vaccine; this one from tick saliva and some more OSPs: Yale lyme vaccine article
The real scary part is; it looks like Dr. Shapiro might be heading the testing. This is an excerpt from the 'Under Our Skin' press kit at http://www.underourskin.com/images/press/uos-press_kit.pdf : "Dr. Shapiro says he plans on running future Lyme vaccine trials. Yale ran the pediatric Lyme vaccine trials from 2000-2004 and the adult trial in 2003."

Hmm thats funny, I thought this man said the disease was hard to catch and easy to cure. Why on earth by that logic would we need a vaccine?
Clearly his very own statements contradict his actions.
In regards to the vaccine, I'm not sure how I feel about it.
I know people who were involved in the early trials, Park Rangers, wildlife biologists, ect. They are all doing very well and have had more tick bites than anyone I know. As an environmental science student myself, we do need this kind of protection.
But its unfortunate these projects further fund bias and corruption.

We need a vaccine, but will this tick saliva thing protect against all the pathogens carried by the tick?
And if they get weasels to do the clinical trials, who can trust the results reported?

Yes, why would you need a vaccine for an illness that is hard to catch and easy to cure? Thats insane. Its all about greed!
I guess once the vaccine is proven effective and FDA approved, then they will come out and say LD is a very serious, disabling illness, so everyone should get the vaccine. Then they will make tons of money selling it.
Yes corruption at its finest!

Sounds like just another reason to ignore yet more bands on the western blot testing to me. Just what we all needed.
