When I first got sick in May of 07 I had almost all neuro symptoms such as twitching, fatigue, wet sensations on legs, weakness, numbness, tingling, etc... I had little pain symptoms but did have shooting pains in arms and hands, and my eyes and ears ached, and also my feet.
Well now since beginning treatment, I would say a large portion of my symptoms are more arthritic like pain. My hands, knees, ankles, elbows, spine, etc... hurt. I'm also having more pain in my muscles now too than I did before treatment. However since treating, I think my neuro symptoms such as burning and numbness has lessened. It's still there but not as bad. I still however have horrible brain fog and dizziness which I beleive are neuro in nature.
My knees didn't hurt at all until I started treatment...
It just seems weird to me that all these new pain symptoms are happening since treatment. I would think that neuro lyme would be harder to treat than arthritic type, so why are those symptoms getting better while the arhritic type pains are getting worse?

Yes this happens. I remember early in this wondering how in the world things could change daily. It justs becomes a big puzzle.
The puzzle does seem unworkable until one day all of sudden you feel better. Even feeling better would only last for a few hours and then bam, I'd be right back in the lyme & co crazy world.
It could be that you treatment has driven the ketes to new areas. Most likely they've been quite comfortable in your joints and then the abx found them. Now there's a new war zone.
I remember early on just how much I wanted to understand, defeat and conquer them. What I learned was something very foreign to me....

Me too. I had over a year of constant neuro issues, than one day (before dx or tx), I woke up very stiff all over. This is actually what guided me to consider Lyme and to seek and LLMD.
Since starting treatment, my condition and symptoms have been wildly unpredictable.

The arthritic part often comes later in LD. Look thru Dr B's guidelines. I think he addresses this.

This is all way too familiar! I have been treating for a year and a half. Still feels like I'm living in the twillight zone.
What Forrest Gump said......except...."LYME" is like a box of chocolates, you never know what your going to get.

That is interesting...I always thought that the Neuro lyme was more common in late stage lyme, and arthritic is more common in early stages. Geez...these last week of so my pain levels are way up. My hands, arms, knees, ankles and feet are hurting like flu like. My muslces ache too. I don't have ANY swelling or warmth to the joints though. Weird.
Lymetoo, I looked through Dr. B's guidelines and couldn't find it.

Having the same issues. Have had a lot of neuro issues and then joint pain feel like tin woman. Walk like tin woman or a penguin.

Same happened to me. Before I started abx, I didn't have any arthritis. Then about 1 month in, suddenly started having bad arthritis in my spine, while all my GI and headaches mostly went away...

Darn.. I thought it was there!
I've always heard that the arthritis comes in late stage... or at least later than the neuro stuff.
