I have been having these attacks now lasting a good part of the day for about 4 days now.

I'm just sitting or laying and I'm going "pfu" "puf" or "ughf" "uhf" <-- sound it out and thats the noise I'm making.

I think it's air hunger, not sure. My breathing rate is like 24-30 or more at times.

Sometimes, I start rubbing my feet together if I'm in my recliner or just laying down. Or I'm clicking my shoes together very fast. Almost feels like tons of adrenaline at times and sometimes not. If I'm in my office chair, I sometimes grip the side rails like I could rip them off.

It's not panic, but my anxiety is way up during these episodes. If I tap my fingers on my desk, they go a million miles a second. My body just won't relax.

Went to ER yesterday and blood gas was done. I was in Respiratory Alkalosis, which basically means I'm hyperventilating. I tried the paper bag thing, but it does nothing. I DON'T feel lightheaded or dizzy.

If I stand up and walk around it's not as bad, but of course I can't stand that long either.

They let me go home still breathing like this. It broke finally around 8pm. I was so worn out from the 40 attacks I had yesterday, yet had trouble getting to sleep. I tried very low dose Zyprexa 1.25mg which I really never take, but was given to me a while back to help with sleep and anxiety. I also took some Xanax.

Woke up at 7 am, feeling pretty sedated only for this crap to start again now.

I had air hunger back when this stuff started, but it was different. Back then it felt like I could only fill my lungs 25% max. With this, if I concentrate, I can take a full breath and slow it down, but as soon as I stop, right back it goes.

Thanks in advance,

Gary

Sometimes it feel like anxiety and sometimes not. I'm getting this even with the Xanax on board.

To me, it feels like what is called Akathesia, which is a feeling of wanting to crawl out of your skin, which is going on during these attacks.

It's like, my body just won't relax.

Akathesia is usually caused from medication withdrawal, but nothing has been pulled out from my regimen.

Maybe you have built up a tolerence to Xanax and higher doses are required now for the same symptom relief.
