Yeah, you'll do better going slowly. He suggests starting at very small doses for everything.

What tea, specifically, did you start with?

It's good to remember that there is no treatment for lyme that is a walk in the park. Andrographis, especially, commands respect - and planning - for being MUCH more tired the first weeks or so - and very sleepy (which is actually good - just don't drive until you are settled into this). It will also increase you urine output so be sure to drink lots of water and keep your minerals and electrolytes replenished through good foods.

Do you have the book? That is extremely important for reference.

thanks keeb...yes i have the book. have had it for a long time but didn't feel i could do the protocol on my own. too fogggy

now my llmd wants me to do it

my specific tea (per llmd-using buhner) is:

sarsaparilla
japanese knotweed
stephania root
red root

i'm supposed to do cats claw and andrographis too...but i know andro is gonna knock me so i am holding off until i can handle a small amt of the first 4

i can't add cats claw in until i get off my prevacid...i'm working on that with licorice, mastic gum and orange peel

(i'm doing humaworm now too...complicated! have to write down exactly when to take what and when to eat and not eat)

it was 2 oz of sarsa that knocked me last night-i'm ok to day-running a yd sale-and packing up for winter-but i won't ride tonight. i'm still a little dizzy from the sarsa...tonight will try only 1 oz of one of the others

Ahhh, yep . . . it's the sarsaparilla that causes the sleepiness. It can also cause some stomach churning and loose bowels while it does its job.

I'm not sure I'd do this tea and humaworm together. I'd finish the humaworm before beginning another protocol. I also don't know about being on Prevacid while on these herbs. But you can sure ask about all that over at Buhner's site.

Good luck. This all just takes some adjustment.

I make up capsules of everything for hubby. I tried him on the stephania tea 2 or 3 years ago when the book came out. He vomited every time he tried that it was so bitter. He does ok with capsules though. But I started everything at 1 capsule per day -- not 1 capsule 4 times per day. And I only added in one new thing at a time.

Sarsaparilla never seemed to bother him -- probably the easiest for him to take. If he has nerve pain I just give him 4 extra sarsaparilla capsules for a couple of days and that seems to help greatly with detox.

He uses the Source Naturals brand of resveratrol (from Japanese knotweed). That is a very strong antioxidant and will most likely cause some reactions -- made hubby dizzy.

I would also expert a reaction to the stephania -- most likely headaches or eye pain.

Good luck with the protocol.

I've read the book over and over (bit by bit) . . . . and still find new information each time. It's really an amazing book. I'm glad you at least have that for reference.

I find my body gets better sleep when I'm without computer, too. Hopefully, you will enjoy the vacation a bit.
