Okay, so I've been on bicillin for about 2 months--Id say its the best drug for me at this point, but I didnt feel as though I was targeting the bartonella as I had many bart symptoms and now rash---

I have bart, babs, lyme--I HAD been taking Diflucan for yeast, zithromax, mepron, and bicillin

I asked to take rifampin--- Is this too much now for the liver to handle? I definitely have yeast issues or I'd cut the diflucan out--I take milk thistle and my levels have been ok..

My NP at the LLMD's office OK'd it and Im going to work up until the full dose, but I want to make sure there are no interactions

Bicillin does not target Bart, it is for lyme - at least that is what my LLMD and all reading I have done states. If no one has told you that the co-infections must be treated before the lyme, you have been done a disservice. Lyme just thrives in the presence of co-infections.

Suggset you search for articles and books on Bartonella and get some good information - it is out there with a little looking (and I do mean a little).

If you are concerned about your liver, please make sure your doc tests it reguarly - it can fluctuate, get bad and then come back. Support liver function as best you can while going through this.

If you also have Babs - and you didn't mention - just microti or DUNCANI the dreaded as well????
The standard dose of 2 tsp per day will kill nothing.... I lived through that waste of money... it will lessen the load, but not eradicate.

The good news is you know what you have. My Babs didn't show up for several years because the Bart and lyme kept system suppressed.

There is good news.. eventually the yeast problem goes away, it just takes time... didn't hear you mention probiotics, but they are essential. Metagenics makes very good but expensive product... they are not all created equal.

Rifampin is for Bart, but it alone will not kill the Bart either... s sorry they have misguided you on that one and it does have some side effects.

Very sorry you are suffering... have been there and understand totally....

Good news is I am recovered, healthy, just takes time, diligence, a good LLMD and unfortunately $.

Hang in there and keep plugging away.
Blessings,
Barbie

thanks for your advice-- I'd be taking rifampin along with zithromax for the bartonella--I've read that is a protocol some utilize

also i do take the standard mepron dose-- what has been found more effective for babesia?

then i would be taking bicillin for lyme

So protocol as of tomorrow will be bicillin, mepron, zithromax, rifampin, and diflucan
