Another fine mess I've got me in. HA!

I need to make a list of prescription medications that folks take for Lyme and tick borne coinfections.

NOT ANTIBIOTICS... but everything else.

If you take any prescription medications for neurological symptoms, gastrointestinal, anxiety, depression, fibromyalgia, anxiety, muscles, pain, steroids,... etc... etc...

Might you help me make a list?

If you could spell the names right too.. that would really help. I will need to research them.

If you know what they are for.... please share that too.

For example..

Neurotin- neurological

Motrin- pain

NOTE- YOU don't have to be the one taking them. It can be a family member, etc.

WHY am I doing this?

I will be making a list of potential side effects of taking meds that will address our symptoms.. but not the source.

Trying to make a point to help a patient with some issues they are having... and hopefully more folks can use it if needed to do the same.

Thanks!

I usually try to take only one of these at a time as I am a med-phobe (and I am treating Lyme! How ironic!)but this is what I have:

Valium - sleep/anxiety
Ativan - sleep/anxiety
Xanax - sleep/anxiety

The above 3 I take what I happen to have on hand...I don't take them all together. Funny thing for all being benzos, they all work differently.

Baclofen - neck pain
advil - neck pain

I try to limit what I take...too much "stuff" in my body already.

Fludrocortisone - BID for neurally mediated hypotension
Midodrine - same as above
propanolol - same as above
Tramadol - 4 x daily for pain
Neurontin - 2 x daily for pain and at night for pain and sleep
Cortef - adrenal support
Synthroid - hypothyroidism/multi-nodular goiter

Feels like there are more, but can't figure out what they might be!

Let's see. I noticed a few of these were already listed.

Synthroid - for hypothyroidism

Armour - for hypothyroidism

Toprol XL (was on 25mg for a year, now on 50mg. It seems my body got used to 25mg after a year and I was having breakthrough tachycardia) - for crazy out of control tachycardia and heart palpitations. Doesn't always do a great job when herxing though.

Mepron - for Babesia. It's not an antibiotic, so I listed it. [Smile]

Ibuprofen whenever I need it. I usually take it quite a bit at night to help settle my legs - Restless Leg Syndrome. I also take it for headaches and or cramps during that time of the month. I've tried getting something stronger for cramps, but since treating Babesia and/or using the herb Vitex, the cramps have been pretty silent. *knock on wood!*

EXCELLENT!!!!

I can't believe you all have taken the time to make these complex lists.

THANK YOU!!!!!

And tutu.. just to note- and thank you for trying to spare me going through these lists- OH MY! And I know that YOU know normally they aren't like this...

And I know my posts are not real clear all the time.. but...

This time I DO need ALL the stuff that folks take.. even if it is a repeat of what someone else is taking. I am trying to find the most commonly taken, too.

Once this list is done we should have some good data to use as a reference... that will hopefully lead to more good data.

So PLEASE do list ALL stuff.. even if it was mentioned before.

THANKS!!!!

You guys are great!

Derek and anyone else who takes Life Pak:

Where do you buy yours?

A few months ago, I went to buy online through Pharmanex and it was pretty expensive. Anywhere I can get cheaper?

Also how do you schedule the 2 packets/day around all the abx?

WOW Cup...
I can't believe all the stuff folks are taking at one time. Especially when they are taking

anti-inflams like ibuprophen with advil and asprin and so on and so forth...hpefully not at the same time!

Oh well....

I'm always looking for something else then the Ibuprophen 800's I take one half at a time

a half hour in between, to prolong it's effect however I think it's causeing my recent decent

or flare-up and need for IV or IM abx of some kind.

Lexapro 10mgs twice daily
Flexeril 10mgs as needed

ativan one half to 1 and a half mgs, as needed but not more then 3mgs a day(usually at night to

help aid sleep but not always effective)

or (when I have to fight back the urge to rip off someones head and do do in their necks for being so stupid).

I don't take xanax but someone said that it cures everything....

I don't think it cures "RAGE" especially if you abuse them as my wifey #2 used to do...

Used to take zoloft, xanax and amitryptiline before diagnosis of lyme for "Adlerian inferiority of organ complex"

or hypocondriacal hysterics and hallucinations....It had the effect of making me a "manageable Zombie"....

so let's see...diabetes meds...oral....
which, I'm hoping, they allow adrenaline to pass

into the cells, the abx I may be taking at anytime in particular, as I just finished

Alinia500mgs twice a day for a month(by the way without much noticable effect for whoever wanted

to know out there), will ride along with the metformin100mgs twice a day and glyburide one

half of 5mg tablet twice a day, into every cell I have...crossed fingers....speaking of which am

doing 500mgs clyndamycin and 500mgs metronidazol orals for ten days, started

Saturday night,(got my llmd in training, PA, last week and he's a super DUCK)The MORON sent

me for xrays of my left hip the other night but marked right hip on the authorization...

sooooooo!

Ain't that just dandy...the pharmacist in his office that hands out the scripts already goofed

up twice and I called him on it and now he does'nt treat me so nice, and now I bypass him

and go right for the nurse to get me my controlled substance scripts.

Otherwise it could come to blows....and I have so much frustration in me....

I'd hit him so hard and so fast his freaking dumbass tatoos would fall the hell off!

Anyway back to the P.A.- He does'nt quite believe me when I tell him I've been off IV or

IM abx for a couple, or few years, and I'm sliding back again....also taking metoprolol

50mgs daily for BP which I think is that BP we get from a malfunction in our brains...

forget right now what it's called...

some kinda hypertension that is kinda not from the usual causes. Phentermine37.5mgs

one and a half a day when I'm not manic!!just when I have chronic fatigue or depression side

of my anxiety and depression comming back over me...
I also use lightly, Betamethasone Valerate Cream USP, 0.1% three times a day

(it's a topical coticosteroid I believe, and I mix it well with bacitraycin or different

antibacterial creams so it can ride along with the corticosteroid(my concoction)to move the

Bartonella I have around my body whenever it rears it's long red itchy streaks...

I like to chase them around(the boogers!)LOL.....and for a rash I get from my own

persperation between the legs or behind my ears or on my jaw whenever I shave etc....

I also use vinegar/listerine, hot water/ epson salt foot baths, when my ingrown toenails act up

and I have to do minor surgery on them, to keep them from getting infected, because of the

diabetes...ALTHOUGH I have fallen down a lot lately doing stuff and scraped my bod all over

the place. I even got a sliver from "treated garden ties" and my supposed auto immune

deficient system, after soaking in white vinegar/listerine and epson salts,

pushed out the splinter, plus the scrapes and cuts healed nicely, after I cleaned them with

straight white vinegar. Boy that felt freakin wonderful!...LOL

So does the preparation "H" I need to use to push out the dang big ole stools I pass due to

the oxycodone and other meds, not to mention an occasional enima!

Of course I use the usual Dr B's suggestions for supplements, when I can afford them....

the cordycept,B-complex(or sometimes shots IM, CoQ10, garlic capsules, cod liver oil,

acidopholous and live yogurt when on amx's, ginko Baloba, milk thistle, green tea or those

leaf extracts for yeasty gut....occasionally I take prylosec but lots of other times I just use apple cyder vinegar,....

I have been on KETEK in the past and it cleared up my Mitral valve Regurgitation immensely so

much so as I hardly notice any longer when it regurgitates...must have cleared out all those

bacteris that were living on my heart "flaps"...LOL! I try to use the white

vinegar in my ears as I get athletes feet of the ear it seems....that's whatever the ENT duck

calls it and he gives me two scripts of

1. an anti-bacterial and an anti-fugal...speaking of which I have some of that

nystatin around and some "NONI" capsules. Plus cat's claw and wormwood and grapefruitseed

extract..heck I even carved open a live aloe vera plant and shucked down the goo inside of it!

I also employ the use of a "TENS UNIT" to try and successfully aggravate certain nerves so

much that they go numb for awhile and don't bother me so much...like my sciatica whenever my

intestines are clogged up....I did notice that a certain place I put a couple of the "derma-

todes"(pads the electricity flows thru on the skin(derma) get it?! It has an effect on what

must be the VULGAR NERVE, because it helps me have a BM!

NO DO NOT USE IT AROUND THE HEART OR BRAIN...especially if you wear a pacemaker!

I try to drink lots of water and or be-er, uh I mean PONDEROSA LEMONADE!....

Pluck em right off a tree of my neighbors down the street! Thye're as big as the old softballs....

almost the size of a large grapefruit or volley ball!...

Can't remember anything else right now....course if you want to know what ALL I've been on thru

the years since 1997 we would have to include the usual IDSA abx's of choice...

Doxy and Ammoxy, IM Pennicilin, two shots of testosterone which I think kicked off my

diabetes2 or it was my exposure to "AGENT ORANGE" when I served....

Mighta been the whiskey, coulda been the beer, shoulda been the three or four sixpacks I don't know....

NO NO NO......I don't SNIFFFFF "it" no more....
I'm tired a wak'in up on the floor!

My and the abx's above that all of these folks have been taking SHOULD HAVE TOLD THE DUMB

AHOLES IN THE IDSA AND MAINSTREAM MEDICINE THAT

OPEN ENDED AND DIVERSE COMBINATIONS OF ABX'S

DON"T SEEM TO BE AS DANGEROUS AS THEY'RE ALWAYS warning everyone THEY ARE.....

Dr. B's right....the lyme is a lot worse NOT TO TREAT!

Oh yea...throw in some mepron I had awhile back as well as levaquin, Cipro, Geeze.....

I shoulda died by now according to the dang IDSA and the rest of those bumbs!

OOPS forgot about the topiromate, wellbutrin, prozak, statins both lipidor and the

other one....paxil,neurontin, Shakra Healing, white witch spells!...REALLY!

Subliminal message CD's....and a few others I'm too embarassed to tell ya right now....

at least I'm not silver yet!

later tater....

I am wondering how some of you can afford the long list of products you are using?

I thought I was overdoing it a bit with supplements and one prescription for Low Dose Naltrexone which I use for Crohn's.

My wife who has Lyme is taking no supplements, or prescriptions other than digestive enzymes, at this time.

I can see that my supplement and pharma list is not so bad after all. I feel badly for those that have to use all of those products just to get through the day.

I am currently taking

Synthroid .05mcg thyroid
Ambien 2.5mg during my flare week
Diflucan 100mg several times a week
Klonopin .75mg day for anxiety
Xanax .125 haven't used with klonopin but have if needed for anxiety

Most of my meds other than abxs are on the smaller size because the larger doses send me over the edge.
