Did your child take this? If so, how many drops did you give and how old was your child?

Thanks,

tickbattler

Tick,

I cannot tell ya what the dose for Enula would
be for a child but if I remember correctly
the dose for an adult when I took it was 30 drops
2 x a day. So I would think it would be 20 drops 2 x day and work your way up to that slowly (now that is just a guesstimation) I would ask your LLMD to be certain.

I know for my son for Cumanda and Samento it is
10 drops less per dose that an adult would take.
He still takes it 2 x day just 10 drops less
and if able he can work his way up to an adult
dose. My son is 12 heading to 13 and is 110 lbs.
so it may depend on age and weight too. What about
contacting Dr. Cowden or Nutramedix?

Stacyb -

Thanks so much for the info! By the way, did Enula help you? I have my boys taking 8 drops 2 times/day along with Mepron (they can no longer take artemisinin since they both developed allergies to it). I'm afraid to go too high until I get more info, although I know it is used in children by at least one respected LLMD.

Thanks for the suggestion of contacting Dr. Cowden...I will try to find his number!

How are Cumanda and Samento working for your son? Is he taking it with abx? Which infections are they for? Lyme and bart? Cumanda for bart?

One of my boys is really backsliding with bart(?) symptoms (mean talk and oppositional behavior), even though he is on Bactrim. We tried Rifampin for 3.5 months last spring and he was bouncing off the walls. I am trying to think of other options to deal with this.

Thanks so much!

I have that new book with the 13 Lyme-Literate practitioners, and in that book, I believe it was Cowden himself who said that sometimes with babesia duncani, he will give adults up to 60 drops X 2 daily of Enula.

I can't find the book at the moment, but if you want me to confirm that for you, I can find the book and see exactly who said that.

I'm not saying I think you should give your sons 30 X 2 daily (the dose suggested on the bottle for adults), but just thought maybe it would make you feel better knowing that some adults even go up to 60 X 2 daily with Enula.

My LLMD told me to do 30 X 2 daily, but after reading that, I "upped" it myself to 45 X 2 daily, slowly. I probably should have asked first, but oh well.

Hi Tickbattler,

Enula help me some with my GI if anything but
I am not sure it really helped with Babs? Maybe
I should have tried the higher doses as Hoosier
suggests. I think for me that Mepron and Zith
was the best combo with the Art. too. but I had
a hard time with Art. The Enula for me was
so easy to take. I up my does real quick and was fine with it at max dose and I did take it
right along with my abx. I think there maybe
a new one for Babs now too from Cowden? He is always revising.

Tick,
are the boys taking Zith or Biaxcin with
the Mepron ? as I know most combine Babs treatment
with a macrolide abx such as the ones I mentioned IMO.

My son took the Rifampin with Zithro for over 6 months and we did not see anymore improvements
so both LLMD's said to see how he was off of tx.
We D/C that first and then the Zith and the rest
of what he was on and now he is on the limited
or condensed Cowden of Samento and Cumanda and
Parsley. The LLMD says it is fine to overlap
abx with Cowden but usually dose that near
the end of tx when symptom free or stable for months. So far so good with the Cowden for him.

As far as I know Cumanda is to target Bart but
does hit other infections as well. Samento is
for Lyme I believe and general immune support.
Then of course Parsley is just detox and I am sure
helps GI too.

Sorry you son is back sliding. I wonder if there
maybe other issues too such as metals, yeast, ect... We are also addressing this with my son
near the end of treatment. It is part of the D.A.N. and many NP protocol to clean up after tx too.

Oh other things that target Bart are Zhang HH caps
but not sure they are for kids?

Hope this helps
