Well rifampin influences liver metabolism (speeds it up) so it does make most everything metabolized by liver less effective. My LLMD things rifampin+doxy is fine ,but rifampin+ macrolides is counterproductive. I personally couldn't find a way to avoid the issue so I just go with what llmd said.
You could split them in time by 12 hours since rifampin has short half life (5-7 hours) , so like take all doxy in the morning, all rifampin at night
I personally did not have great experience with that combo as doxy in large doses makes you nauseous from time to time and rifampin 600 mg at a time is not a cake either . So basically I felt like **** most of the time
