Hi,
Has anyone had this done? Did you find it helpful?
I have 2 LLMDs right now. They work on different issues, but there's one they agree on...I have methylation problems and I need a little help understanding all this.
One wants me to do the methylation test.
Before I had a chance to do the test, I saw the other doc and was told to just start on the vitamins and if there's a problem, to do the test.
This is all going over my head.
I'm feeling better since I started the methylation protocol, but wonder if I should take the test anyway.
I would have to stop my supplements to do the test. I'm finally having some relief after so much misery that I don't want to stop the supplements.

Yasko's Methylation test does not require one to stop supplements...it is a DNA test, and supplements don't influence that.
If the supplements are helping, then I don't think you should stop them...but this is my opinion.
I don't know anything about the Vitamin Diagnostics methylation test.
However, there are other tests, such as Genova Diagnostics' NutrEval, that can be done either avoiding stuff to see what your baseline is, or while taking supplements, to see if the supplements are helping.
If I were you, I'd ask your doctor for clarification of why he wants you to get the test done, given your positive response to supplements...and also ask what he hopes to learn as a result of the test, and ask whether that would change anything you are currently doing.
Because if he wouldn't change anything you are currently doing as a result of the test, then there's little point doing the test in my humble opinion...
