Is it a bad combination? I've read that the doxy diminishes the effect of the malarone... I've been on this combination for about a week. Has anyone tried the combination Leriam and Doxycycline for Babesia? Any bad side effects? Thanks

Do you have a LLMD? Did they prescribe the doxy for Babesia or another TBD?

I do, but the reality is that he prescribed Leriam and doxy. But since I read about the terrible side effects of Leriam, I am a little scared and decided to do the malarone instead.

Same here Deep. I have to start the Lariam and I really don't want to. The Malarone has suppressed all my symptoms from the Babesia (I think). Sweats are 99% gone and air hunger (99%) gone.

it kills me that my ID doc won't Rx Malarone instead of Mepron when I hear all these great results!

PJ 1954, To answer your question, I was taking zythromax and mepron and was having the worst heart palpitations... and the worst nightmares. So, he switched me to doxy - and I elected to take malarone instead of Lariam. Now, I wonder if I should stop the malarone for a few days and starts on the Lariam. I don't like the idea that, if you have to take a pill a week, it means it stays in your system that long. What If you have a bad reaction?
