i called his office today and the nurse just this minute called me back.
i had to fill four vials for the test and get to lab asap and did this december 24th.
she said all vials were negative including for toxins a and b (whatever that is).
i asked her if you shouldn't test three times and she said every time they had tested three times the results were always the same -- negative.
also said they are treating this as antibiotic induced colitis, a severe case. finish the medications adn stay away from all seeds, nuts, etc., and diary. try to keep on soft mushy diet and liquids.
my stools are down to once or twice a day. she said the florastor will definitely help with that and stay on it even after i finish the flagyl.
right now i'm just worn out. pain is constantly a 2-3.
will wait for test in february.
oops edited to read and will be treating for diverticulitis.

Hope your feeling better. My husband started having severe stomach issues. He had stool samples tested, stomach scope, and a colonoscopy. Every thing was negative.
I had him take 10 days of flagyl, and his stomach went back to normal. Wish we had tried that before all the expensive tests!!

hah, thought so. see i ain't as dumb as fence post after all.
geez, i know more than his nurse does.
and i wasn't on any meds when i gave the sample and got to the lab within an hour. so i'm pretty sure it was a good sample. and from my symptoms, i was almost psoitive it was c. diff, except for the odor and color.
i mean c'mon. any idiot knows you don't have 10-15 watery brown bm's a day without having c. diffi and the abdominal pain and colon swelling that was so bad it showed up on a ct scan.
i agree. DUH!!!!
geez, it's amazing how we have to diagnose ourselves isn't it?
