I guess co-infections are old news to most of you but I'm still reeling-- just got my lab results on Friday and it turns out I have 6 different diseases:
Six sounds like a lot... but I guess it's good to know for sure what's wrong with me (finally). Just felt like sharing in case I'm setting some kind of a record, haha. Can anyone top that?

- Sorry you have had to face such a shock and a long painful journey to get answers.
Yep, it sure is a lot but I guess most lyme patients have the same load. Not trying to top anyone, but I deal with 4 TBD and 3 other chronic stealth infections (Cpn, HHV-6, Coxsackie-B). Some are under more control than others but it's unclear.
It's not really all that unusual. I would guess most have 6 -8 total stealth infections, especially with delayed diagnosis.
But, it can get better. I am glad that you apparently have a good doctor who wants to know the whole picture. Good luck.
For everyone to consider: --------------------------------------
In addition to the usual coinfections from ticks (such as babesia, bartonella, ehrlichia, RMSF, etc.), there are some other chronic stealth infections that an excellent LLMD should know about: ----------
I would encourage EVERY person who has received a lyme diagnosis to get the following tests.

Like you said, at least you know. Sorry if this is insensitive but I wish I could get positives on some coinfections. They keep comin up neg and I am constantly second guessing every treatment I get. Sorry that you are so sick though. Good luck in your treatment.

Wow - I'm amazed that you got so many positive blood test results. Most of us have a lot of those but don't test positive. My family members showed about 3 infections through blood work (over time) but then showed 6 or 7 through electrodermal screening.
Which lab did you use?
Thanks,

That is quite a bit but it is suggestive of a strong immune response so hopefully this will make the battle easier for you.

Wow, that's a good point-- I'm lucky to have positive results & a diagnosis. Good luck to everyone who is getting inconclusive results, hope you don't have to wait too much longer.
As for places to avoid, I'm not really sure because I've had literally hundreds of ticks over my lifetime (guess these coinfections should come as no surprise). But I lived in Virginia most of my life and that's probably where it all started. I used to go to summer camp in Front Royal and get 50-60 in one summer. Yuck.

I wouldn't have even believed that many are possible at once. I wish you the best.

What, no Bart.
Seriously, that is quite a laundry list, but you are right, you are far better off knowing what you are dealing with.
I hope you get rid of all of it.

You're not alone.
Just tackle them and keep treating.
There's hope!
