Our daughter needs liver support. She is on Rifampin.

LLMD said to take one capsule daily of Milk Thistle. Would 2-3 hrs away from the Rifampin be safe?

Rifampin reacts with so much.

Maybe do the Milk thistle at bedtime with probiotics.

Rifampin users when do you take Milk Thistle?

Thanks,

I take milk thistle twice per day, around 10 am and 2pm. I take the rifampin around 8 pm. The last time I took them about 3 hours apart I threw up all night.

I take Milk Thistle too along with Rifampin.
I do space it hours apart from each other.

Milk Thistle is great for liver support and
important with any abx that can cause stress
like Rifampin IMO. You may want to try ALA
and NAC too for liver support. I also use
Hep #2 from Zhang but make sure to ask you LLMD
about adding supplements.

My son did really well on 1 Milk Thistle a day
while he was on Rifampin.

My doctor said you can take them together at the same time. Two per day is appropriate. Agree, also with the Hepa#2, which can also be taken at the same time with the Rifampin.

Children can likely take less, but talk to your doctor.

I don't know why it made me so sick, apparently others can take it at the same time. I obviously have a sensitive stomach.
