- If you tolerate it okay. Organic is best. "Natural" does not necessary mean organic, maybe just less additives or no hydrogenated fats (that are killer fats).
I googled that brand and it does not appear to be organic.
But, other nuts don't have the same mold issues that peanuts can have.
I'd use a well rounded approach, though. No one food is good to load on - protein from lots of different sources, lots of veggies - important so that you get muscles. All kinds of good fats.
But, even if you want to gain weight, you can get too much good fat and your veins and arteries - your liver, gallbladder and colon could also suffer from too much.
In the right portion, there are also all kinds of nuts and nut butters. Rotate. Almonds/almond butter . . . cashews . . . madadamia . . . brazil . . . walnuts . . . .
Most of those you can get as nut butter. But just a couple handful of nuts a day is anyone's limit so you might just enjoy the plain nuts, too.
For those with some strains of herpes, though, nuts may need to be avoided. So, see how you do but don't buy a bunch of cases of anything just yet.
Some weight training will also help build muscle. Believe me, no matter how thin one is, you still want to gain muscle weight, not fat weight.

The only red flag I know of for peanut butter is that peanuts can often harbor more mold than other nuts so I'm not sure if yeast or mold are a concern for you or not.
I try to stick with almond butter because of this, but I could just be extra cautious.
Also-coconut milk has lots of calories, I try to consume it everyday in a smoothie with yogurt. I've successfully put on one pound which is a big step for me believe it or not.

Yeah I am waiting for payday so I can order some protein powder. I know its going to help, it's be great to add to the coconut milk and yogurt smoothies so I can balance out the nutrients.

- I know it's easier to drink our meals. I do that often, too.
But nothing in a package can compare with the real meal deal. Real food is infinitely more complex and better for us.
Juicing veggies, pureeing soups (with a hand blender) . . . even eating cold left-overs. However it works . . . real food is what matters most to the cells of our body.
One protein packet a day may work okay, but more than that and we loose out to the power packed for us in real food. -

If you have a Trader Joe's near you - their peanut butter is the best and the people who work there know A LOT about health and what should be OK for you to eat. Or even WHole Foods too. I love peanut butter! helped me put back on 10 lbs in 2 weeks last June after my attack.

Also, drinking our meals - I have done that but you do start to develop a sort or anorexia to whole food you must chew after a while. The throat forgets how and you can get a little nausea. I drink BOOST and Ensure - for a while that was ALL I ate. It was NOT good for me. Now I am back to eating healthier but I could do better. Still love that peanut butter! ha ha

My LLMD stepped up my treatment just this week, due to my recent wt. loss. I cannot afford to lose, either.
My LLMD recommended working on muscle wt. as Keebler suggested.
Now don't go crazy on me with the next thing I say. I was flipping through the channels and came on the Dr. Oz show. (I do not watch him.) He had these women marking (guessing) which foods were fattening or flattening. The natural pb turned out to be flattening (according to him), because it was missing the fat of store brand pb's.
Protein drinks put the wt. on me before my treatment. It wasn't my intention as I felt my wt., at the time, was ideal. I was drinking it because I was doing the Sugar Addict's Recovery Program.
I wasn't happy at the time with the wt. gain. It was yrs. after I stopped that I started losing wt. I thought about starting up again to put the wt. back on, but think I would be sorry doing that before I was back to exercising.
