Okay, so we just got notification today that our Adult Basic coverage is increasing from $243 a month per person to $600 a month per person.
What the crap? How do they expect someone who is out of work to pay $1200 a month for insurance, especially insurance that doesn't cover squat.
So does anyone have any ideas where we can go for decent low-cost health coverage? If that even exists....

Oh, I'm sorry. I don't have good ideas but wanted to offer you hugs and support.
You're not alone - I remember when my private ins increased from $400 every 6 mos (in 2000) to $3600 every 6 mos (in 2005).
In only 5 years! From $800 yearly to $7200 yearly. With no prescription coverage. Yikes.
I think it is their way of dumping us - raise the premiums till we can't afford it.
I'm so sorry. Hoping you find some good leads asap!!

Well, hubby is ready to go through the roof.
Over the weekend he did some investigating and found out that we were eligible for a COBRA extension and could have had our COBRA extended back in December.
So in effect, we had worthless health insurance that we paid for when we could have had our COBRA coverage.
We can get it extended till May, but now we have to pay back premiums for December and January, as well as for February.
And then he talked to someon from a health insurance company that he found on ehealthinsurance.com, and that guy told him we won't be able to get coverage for me because of my Lyme disease.
Oh, this just gets better and better, doesn't it?
