I have my first LLMD appt tomorrow...I got in earlier than original appt.
My family MD prescibed doxy 100mg bid (not strong enough from what I read but it's a start) and I started taking it this past Tuesday.
Today I noticed a period of tingling lips, kinda numb feeling, and the tip of my tongue was numb too.
Does or did anyone else experience this?
Is it a side effect of doxy? A sx of Lyme? I'm worried it's an allergic reaction. Although it is gone now, I'm due to take another dose tonight and one more in the AM before my appt time. Now I don't know if I should.
Any advice for me?

I have gotten tingling lips from Lyme or die-off. It's always hard to tell what it's from. I would say if it's gone, it probably isn't an allergic reaction, but I don't know. I have major neuro symptoms.

I had this as a lyme symptom. I had numbness and tingling in my nose, lips and tip of my tongue.

I also get these strange symptoms from flagyl and also pain in the bones and my practitioner thinks it is an allergy and I had to stop.
It is so hard to say if it is allergy or just some reaction.Do you have some trouble with your throat, like swelling?
I was tested with an allergy test earlier and it showed as allergy. I now try to take it for very short time only. The danger is you might end up with being permanently allergic to the med or even a shock reaction.
Is there an alternative to doxy, I would think there is .
No advice for you. Just ask him for a different med for now.
