I used it. Great med. Helps Zit/Biaxin to work better. Cyst buster. Anti-malarial.

Just watch for side effects in the eyes. I never had a problem with it and took it for 20 months.

Unfortunately it was one of my worst meds to date - even on small doses - flu sx increased, dizzy, bed ridden, very, very teary..but as you see above others have been helped tremendously by it.

Good luck!

I took it for a few months. I don't think it did much. It may have increased the effectivness of other meds. I was glad to go off of it because my bowel movements were very loose while on this drug. I felt better being off of it.

I like it, it helps reduce inflammation and joint pain too.

Been taking it for months. Was in combo with zitro/minacin and Bactrim.

I think it helps but was having to take low dose (half pill am-pm)

Just started Rifampin last week and I have been trying to up my does of Plaq to 1 whole pill am and 1 whole pill pm. (each pill 200 mg)

I have been feeling like absolute CRAP since then...

I don't know if its herx, just plain side effects, if it's actually helping kill babasia or what but my Bab ARE OFF THE HOOK...????

I like the med..juz hate the side effects but i am afraid half dose isn't enough to really do any good.

I'll check with LLMD in a couple of weeks but this is the 2nd time I have not been able to take full dose ...

Just watch out for side effects...herx etc.

Good luck,

Karen

I am taking Plaquenil along with Bicillin LA. I don't know if it's helping or not. I have had good results, but how much of it is from Plaquenil I haven't a clue.

I have to see my opthalmologist so much, it is driving me nuts! Mostly, because of the severe dry eyes the Lyme has caused, but now it seems he wants to see me reg. every 3 mos and I can't help but think it's because of the Plaquenil.

He keeps doing the glaucoma test, too, even if he just did it 2 wks. ago. I wonder what's up with that. Is Plaquenil a concern in re. to glaucoma?

One interesting thing is he said that the Plaquenil should actually help with the dry eyes.

That's probably not the info you were looking for.

I have been on it for almost 2 yrs. My son took
it too for a bit over a yr. I had no issues
on it and neither did he. We both had
a base line --full eye exam with visual fields testing and repeats just to make sure every
6 months to a yr. I herxed with some psych stuff
for about 2 weeks so I could tell it was working
