Got a call today, it was the county gov. office.

My Dr. reported to them that I had Ehrilichia and wanted to know what my symptoms were and when did they start.

I told them back in 1989 and was never properly treated at that time.

I also informed him that I was also being tx for lyme.

He said Dr. didn't report that I had lyme!

How long was I tx? month doxi. 5 1/2 wks Roceph.

and 1 mo. doxi again. He says "wow, you have been more than tx. for the bacteria."

Asked what the symptoms for lyme was, and have a good day you have been cooperative.

Can you believe this!

Actually, I can't believe they bothered to call at all. But I can believe that they were totally ignorant when they did.

He also let me know that ehrlichia was a bacteria that wouldn't be passed to a family member.

Sometimes, this is bad news for the doctor. In my state, any doctor who treats lyme more than a week or two can loose their license if the state finds out - or if they treat someone who has had it a while. It can only be a brand new case.

I'm concerned about what your agency will do with the information since this is not a new case. That the person calling you made a judgment, saying: " "wow, you have been more than tx. for the bacteria." Does not bode well for the doctor.

Can you call your doctor's office and just let them know about the call and what the conversation entailed? They should know so that they can be prepared if they receive a call or orders to stop your treatment.

When I talked to him he stated he already called the office and requested my lab work and tx.

Keebler, I'm not on tx. anymore. I posted a couple days ago that my dr. wouldn't tx me anymore. 1/29 I'm healed.

Congratulations, then, for regaining your health. Glad you are healed. He probably couldn't keep following you then after your remission if he had others who are still ill needing his attention. I bet he'd still like you to stay in touch for progress reports on your success.

I thought you were referring to current treatment, not treatment from '89, then. Guess the county office was years behind in their calls.

For them to ask for your medical records just infuriates me, though. VERY bad news for all the TBD patients and LLMDs in your state.

He should have known that Ehrlichiosis is rickettsia. And, they should NOT be seeing your files. Infection reported. Date & place of contracting infection. That should be the end of it.

This is to go after your doctor, most likely. Hope he has some other skill to fall back on. (Big, big sigh!)

To be clear - I assume you mean the County HEALTH or MEDICAL DEPT. Or - was this another agency?

I'm confused, who is the County gov. office? Seems to me I smell a rat. your doctor dropped you, are they moving ahead to remove the drs. license? The doctor? sent your tx and labs to them? I thought that your records were private unless you sign a release. Like I said just doesn't sound right or fair to drag you into the middle of what ever their plans are.

Keebler, Im not in remmision.... my Dr. dropped me!

She was warned too many times I fear!

The guy said he was from Fulton City Gov. I guess I should have asked if it was Health Dept.

Oh, sorry to hear you are not healed, then ? - but you wrote that you were healed: (1/29 I'm healed)

- a bit confusing for my brain to detect sarcasm but Im guessing that you were probably dropped and told you were "healed" when, really, you have not yet reached that point. Politics and pressure likely behind that as this call brings to light.

The doctor was probably told to drop you. It may be very rough road ahead for her - and others.

If you have not yet made another call, you can *69 the call - or if you have a cell, the record of incoming calls should be there and you can call back and ask in detail. It would be worth knowing, for sure.

Let's hope your doctor does not wind up only able to treat in the E.R. as that is often the first step for lyme doctors who are told they can't have patients anymore.

I would say there is someone in state medical board

looking to make a name for himself.

I would contact the GA Senators and Congressmen and

demand they stop the harassment. Before it gets

further out of control.

I think something is up, if more than one Lyme doc is dropping patients at around the same time. Or did you both use the same doctor?

Oh, don't feel bad. They already had the details, really.

I tried to help others learn at times, too, and it just exploded in my face - an in the careers of a couple doctors.

Hey, I wonder if you and merrygirl might have the same regional insurance company? She's two states over from you. The insurance companies are often the ones turning in the doctors to the local health boards.
