Been very sick today and doesn't seem to be getting better. Neurological stuff and now so much nausea I couldn't finish chicken noodle soup. Any suggestions to get over this? Haven't eaten all day.

Do you have babesia?? or is this nausea from the meds?

Do you think that you have a stomach virus? Or is it a side effect from your meds?

You can try Ginger tea, candies, or capsules from a local health food store. Some people say that helps.

Another option is OTC "Bonine", generic name is meclizine. It is sold in the motion sickness area of the pharmacy. Used to be an RX anti-nausea med before it went over the counter. If you can't find it, ask your pharmacist.

If that doesn't help you may need to ask your doctor for an RX. There are a couple that may be helpful.

Hope you feel better soon.

One more thing, if you can't eat, try to sip on some broth or gatorade throughout the day. You don't want to get dehydrated. And you could use the extra calories and sugar. You will feel weaker and sicker if you take in only water.

I have been in those shoes..no fun.

If you are treating, the bacteria die off needs to be detoxed.

Check w/your LLMd, but mine recommened Activated Charcoal which was a wonder thing and also the the blended-strained lemon/olive oil drink works well for me too.

To help with symptoms - Ginger root capsules help nausea so does Papaya chewable tablets..I have found taking both together work best for really bad nausea.

Thanks for the responses it really helps to have people out there that can offer advice when im so sick. Feeling a little better today, was able to eat some eggs this morning.

Idk if I have babs or not my LLMD told me he could test for coinfections but said they are often inconclusive and the abx regiment will eventually get to each of them. I was trying to save some money but I can afford testing if it will help me. Ill spend anything to get help. Any suggestions on what tests I may need to get?

Im trying to stay away from gatoraide because of the sugar.

Ill look into asking my dr about activated charcoal. Also on the lemon drink I read the recipie but didn't get it. Do you blend the half lemon peel and all in blender? Is it a weight gainer or antinausea concoction?

I will look into bonine. As far as detox I have no idea on how to do this. I take detox baths and they don't do $hit. I took one the day before yesterday and that's when the sickness started coming on harder.
Im stopping my 500mg of zith for a couple of days till I come out of this (llmd instructed me to do this). I cant tell any sustained progress from the antibiotics. I question my treatment and dx everyday.

Hang in there because it's definetly a rough road. My doctor prescribed zofran which is a very strong anti nausea med. I have it on hand for those days when I can't stomach even the thought of food. I am on the zith and that proved to be harder on my body than the IV abx. I hope that this nausea only lasts for a few days, or that you can find something that works in alleviating it. As far as progress from the antibiotics, from what I know it can take a while and you just have to be patient. I just finished on 12 weeks of IV rocephin along with the oral zith and saw no improvement. Actually I saw my symptoms get worse, which is ironically the meds killing off the bacteria. I hope that you will continue with these treatments and give them a chance to work.

i dont think it was flu, no temperature or runny nose. also had swine shot.

pine you talking about taking salt when your nauseas or just after you take meds?

as for detox im still so confused. i do the baths dont know what else to do, ive noticed no improvement from them.

If your dr is going to treat for the coinfections, you wouldn't HAVE to get tested. But if you want to know... get a babesia test through Igenex.

Men seem to have the hardest time accepting this illness. I guess it's because men hate being ill SO MUCH!

hang in there! [Smile]
