Im goin for my first massage tomorrow. I want to do it to help me detox
What should I tell the therapist? Anything I should do. Should I ask for a specific type of massage
Thanks

If you are actively flaring and it's serious, I wouldn't do a massage other than a foot massage.
My LLMD has warned against lymphatic massage and deep tissue massage when in a flareup or herxing stage. If not herxing or flaring up with symptoms, a relaxing Swedish massage works - anything with mild to moderate amounts of pressure is good (give the massage therapist feedback if it is too much) and stretching the muscles to release tension is better than pressure.
One body work method I've heard works really well for Lyme and fibromyalgia patients is Bowen therapy.

Enjoy! I have noticed muscle spasms sometimes, I can tell it is doing good. For me, I like on the harder side, so that's what I ask for. My thought is, it will do more. Can't say I know that's right, that is just my thinking.
