Is there anything new out there on vitamin D? Why does our D drop for no reason?

My D was 63, up from 30. I continued taking the same amount of D that got it from 30 to 63, yet within 6 months it has plummeted to 23.

Now my doc wants to put me on prescription D. I just don't get why the D level dropped.

Vit D has 2 components

1,25D
25 D

any good doc would check both. with Lyme many people believe that your 1, 25D will be high and in effect it lowers 25D.

Just lyme buggers doing anything they can to suppress immune function.

Read online that some medicines can cause low Vit D.

Rifampin is one that can lower and feel this is the cause in our daughter.

Hope you find answers soon.

LymeMd has written a littel bit about this phenomenon, maybe post a question about that on his blog. I think I remember it has to do with some infections.
