I have tested positive (western blot/6 markers) for Lyme and am in the process of choosing a doctor.
I see that I will have to travel, my question is, how does this normally go when traveling to see a doc?
One trip and then they monitor by phone? See them once a week? Once a month?
Maybe there is no average standard but if there is could you please share?
Thank you!

My friend sees her LLMD every other month. I see mine every 4 weeks. Apparently it's up to the LLMD. When you call to ask questions, you could ask the receptionist how often the doctor schedules patients.

Depends on what medications, what blood tests they need etc.
And am sure they can extend visits some if there is travel involved.

I had to travel to see my LLMD for the first visit. Now I have phone follow-ups every 4wks and travel to the office about every 6mo. He's had me come in before 6mo also so I guess it depends on your condition.
Once you start treatment you will need to have your blood work monitored regularly. My LLMD requires me to have labs done every 2wks, some require every 4wks. Probably depends on your individual treatment plan.
