with the holiday i fell off the wagon.

guess what? i'm in the middle of a bad diverticulitis attack. i'm wondering tho if lyme can cause diverticulitis?? can it?

my lower abdomin is burning adn the pain is so bad i'm on vicodin.

i have flagyl adn have started that since it's what the doctor gave me before and what they gave me in the hospital.

i am taking florastor twice a day and jarrow, acidolphilis pearls, pb8, and something else called super probiotic complex.

then at night i take a critical care and theralac.

is this enough to protect my colon? dang, i'm terrified of getting c. diff again. even tho my gastro said i did NOT have it, he tested several times (ugh, that test is downright embarrassing) i had scalding smelly diahhrea, pain was sooo sick to my stomach. my poor bottom was just meat it was so red and irritated. i was going to the bathroom at least 15-20 times a day. i'd just get up off the loo and then down the hall, and bam!! have to turn around and go right back.
so i don't care what he said, i felt i had it. he did give me abx for it tho and that cleared it right up.

do you think all this stuff will help protect against c. diff and yeast?

i have grapefruit seed extract and i'm gargling with that and it really seems to help the thrush. plus i have the vaginal flagyl type stuff.

anything else i can do? right now i'm on liquids only as anything causes pain. i'm up all night.

hopefully the vicodin will help a little. talked to my sister and she said when she started vomiting and her fever went up over 100, she went to er. spent 5 days in hospital, hooked up to iv's.

man, i hope i don't get there. i can satnd to loose a lot of weight, but ugh, not like this....

randibear, when you go to buy probiotics next time check out VSL#3. You get 225billion CFU's in 2 capsules. One bottle will last you a month for about $50. It might save you money.

Anyways, it sounds like you are already doing all you can. Continue to take your prescriptions and probiotics and hopefully you will start to feel better soon.

While you are not able to tolerate foods be sure to sip on liquids with calories and electrolytes, not just plain water. Ensure might also be a good option to try, something easy on your stomach that provides protein necessary for healing.

Hugs and prayers for a quick recovery [Smile]
