I am trying to add more detox methods into my protocol.

How many days in a row and what is the recommended dosage of activated charcoal? I know to take it 2 hours away from abx. I just can't find how many days it is allowed, etc.

Thanks!

I was told to take one pill every other night at bedtime, two hours away from abx. The bottle I have says 520mg.

On my bad days I took 4 a day when bottle said 2.

Electrolyte mixes really helped when I was very sick.

Pinches of salt for nausea/vomiting. Low blood pressure and pounding heart. Then I could eat.

B12IM for nerves.

Hot as is comfortable epsom salt soaks.

Fresh squeezed lemon ade with Stevia or like.

Hang in there it will get better.

I bought my activated charcoal at VitaminShoppe. I am sure other vitamin chains have it as well.

Sorry, I can't help with electrolyte mixes.

I got mine at wallyw. They also sell electrolyte replacement mixes for things like diarrhea and vomiting.

This is a good question and I have studied A/C extensively because it really saved my son.

We do it "as needed". A/c is unique because your body doesn't absorb it, it instead adsorbs toxins. Reminds me in my mind of a sponge that goes through you and mops up the junk on the way out.

For instance, I did Chitosan and it absorbed everything in me, including vitamins and made me very D deficient. A/C hasn't done that.

I did an article after a few months of study w/many, many interesting links that may interest you: http://www.truthaboutlymedisease.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=286

Coconut water is a great source of natural electrolytes. Zico is a good brand. I drink at least one every day.

Alternatively, you can mix a 2:1 solution of water and apple juice (16oz) and throw in a pinch of sea salt (enough to taste it, but not be overwhelming).

There are several supplement products out there that are specifically designed to replace electrolytes, but they are for severe dehydration, like when you have the flu for days (vomiting, diarrhea, etc.). I wouldn't think you'd need these so consider trying the suggestions above.

And whatever you do, skip the Gatorade and other sports drinks they are all mostly sugar and other crap you don't need.

There was a recent thread about this subject--do a search!

One set of articles talked about taking SEVERAL GRAMS--like up to 40 or so!!!

Activated Charcoal in the health food store often comes in 250 mg capsules. So, you'd have to take four to get even one gram.

This may be enough....or not. I have no personal experience. One poster here felt that 2-4 capsules was enough.

I'm taking activated charcoal sometimes, as I'm doing the Allergie-Immun drops, and these cause the body to release the toxins that it's been hanging onto, because it didn't know what to do with them.

Also I take Chlorella.

As for electrolytes, I like Electrolyte Stamina from Trace Minerals Research. It has the proper balance of sodium to potassium, which most don't, along with lots of trace minerals as well.

For an electrolyte drink, Emergen-C is OK, but doesn't have the same level of trace minerals.

As for coconut milk, I've never tried it, but I'm eating coconut cream every day now. I started with it when I was taking Mepron/Zith for the fat content. Who can ***** about eating something that tastes like the inside of a Mounds Bar, without the sugar??!!?? Anyway, you can mix a tablespoon or so of it in water to make your own coconut milk at home. Probably less expensive than buying it in bottles.

Anyway, I definitely feel better overall eating it.

And, I lost weight!

Supposedly, coconut oil has anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties (lauricidin?) Coconut cream is 70% coconut oil. I get it from Tropical Traditions--they often have 2-for-1 sales, and I stock up!!

I don't have any financial interest in this company, by the way, I just like the product a LOT!!

Hope this helps!

Best,

Cass A

jennie - I don't like charcoal, period. It's way too rough on me. I like apple pectin, pectasol, glycine (this one is easiest to mix) and sometimes chlorella. (This is just me, okay...)

Re: Hydration. I tried watery melons as a major source last summer and it was wonderful! Any watery melon that's native to your area will work. Down here, it watermelon! I can hardly wait until melon time!

You guys that are on antibiotics are just going to bind up your meds and render them ineffective if you take activated charcoal during treatment, even if it is spaced out by a few hours.

It would be likely better to take antibiotic breaks and use the charcoal then.
