November of 2009 the results of Doctor's Data 6 hour DMSA provoked toxic metals urine test, and bloodwork from Bioreference lab showed the following: Mercury - 13 - ref. range is 4 from Doctor's Data Inc. and mercury in blood was 6.6 - ref. range is 5 from BioReference Labs.
Lead 19 - ref.range is 5 from Doctor's Data and lead in blood is 1.5 - ref. range 0-25 From bio Reference Labs.
Decided in January 2010 to do an unprovoked 24 hour urine test, and also a calcium EDTA provoked urine test through Quest Diagnostics Labs to see if the results would show elevated lead and mercury (similar to previous Doctor's Data results) and to my surprise the Quest results indicate that the levels are in normal range.
Quest labs results: mercury - less than 4 - ref. range less than or = 20mcg
lead - less than 10 - ref. range less than 80mcg
cadmium - less than 0.2 ref. range less than or= 5.0 mcg
Please note: prior to doing the Quest 24 hour urine tests I started using chlorella (for 2-3 weeks - small amounts) along with other normal regular supplements like NAC, ALA etc. I'm not sure this would have had any impact on the results, but I just thought I would mention it.
At this point I don't know what to make of these results or which lab I should believe.
I was planning on having amalgams removed but now I'm not sure what to do.
Anyone have the same experience? Your thoughts and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you! JJ

I would go with what you and your doc decides.
Is there a reason you tested with quest instead of
bioreference lab? The results are very suspicious.
Where did you get so much lead in the first place?
Changed work place, home, lead pipes?

Pinelady, thanks for your response. LLMD decided to use Quest. Yes, the results are very suspicious.
I don't know where I could have picked up that much lead. I have had a couple of root canals in the last few years.
Have recently had my home water filter system and regular tap water for lead and both levels were low.
Could this be the result of my immune system not recognizing these metals in my system as Gigi and others who are involved with AI Germany are stating?
Canefan, I do not have a lead retainer in my mouth.
Anyone else have any thoughts about this?

My sisters kids had to be treated. It was from home lead pipes.

Large amounts of lead are transferred to the fetus. Leaded gasoline, lead paint, lead coated dishes etc. were commonly used for decades so our mothers likely had plenty of lead to pass on to us.
As we age, we lose bone mass and our bones (primarily where lead is stored) start to release lead. I speculate that this may be partially why we see so much mental decline as people age.
