or is it only if you have symptoms of the infections? My doc only tested me for Lyme. No co-infections..even though I have had sore soles a few times. Do they usually wait to see if Lyme treatment DOESN'T work before considering co-infections?
what are the typical tests for babs, bart, mycoplasma, erlichia etc...? Are they as hard to diagnose as Lyme is?

My LLMD tested me for a long list of coinfections, even though he and I agree that I don't have any symptoms to suggest that a certain coinfection is active.
He thinks my only symptoms are from Lyme.
My coinfection tests all came back negative, but like the Lyme tests, those can be inaccurate and sometimes be negative even if you do have the infection.
A good LLMD should be considering whether coinfections are an issue when you have your first visit. If not, I would be worried.
My LLMD asked me to bring a written list of my questions to my first visit, and then made sure I got them all answered. Write down everything you want to remember to ask about when you go to your appointment.

My LLMD never wanted to test for any of them, unless I pressed myself. They were diagnosed clinically or just a run through of meds to supposedly address anything possible.
