I posted something about this a week or so ago.
After my son and I took Natural Calm (and we only took 1/4 tsp) we both had horrible herx feelings.
We haven't taken it since.
A few days later, I had started supplementing with 500mg of Magnesium and every time I do, within a couple hours, I feel very relaxed and then have awful herx feelings.
I have searched and searched and know that magnesium shouldn't cause a herx, but why would this be happening?
I take pills separately so I can keep track of whats doing what and its definitely the magnesium for both of us.

Magnesium is required to activate many different enzyme systems in the body. In my opinion you were probably deficient in magnesium and with continued use the negative symptoms should decrease.
The same thing may happen if a person has a low body temperature and takes thyroid meds or gets a fever. Many systems in the body do not operate efficiently if the body temp is too low.

I do take Mg, for it helps me with restless leg syndrome. I have learned to not take it on an empty stomach, and to not take too much. If I take 400 mg a day for several days, I get the rag doll feeling that you describe (very relaxed). It also happens to me if I take any amount on an empty stomach. Mg relaxes smooth muscles which is why you feel very relaxed when you take it.
I can't answer your question about the herx feelings, but I do know why you feel relaxed on it.
I'm still trying to find the right amount for me. It is somewhere around 350 mg or so a day, spread out over the day and taken with food.
Best, Timaca

Natural Calm is also not good for me, try other Magnesium like glycinate, malate, or transdermal.
You need to start on a low dose, I was told toxins attach to it so the body can flush them.
