If the following is true, then wouldn't this be a huge breakthrough for all us lymies? Got this from an article that Twinkle posted on another one of my threads about vitamin D........

Vitamin D increases the body's production of naturally occurring antibiotics: antimicrobial peptides. Antimicrobial peptides are produced in numerous cells in the human body where they directly and rapidly destroy the cell walls of viruses and bacteria, including tuberculosis.

This is probably why vitamin 1,25D is usually high in lymies: our bodies sense infection and raise our 1,25D level.

But it's futile because lyme's bacteria survive in a cell-wall deficient form.

With no cell walls to be destroyed, Bb has found a way around our vit D defense.

Myco - no speculation, it's well known Bb survives in CWD form

Check out Lida Mattman's book, "Stealth Pathogens---Cell Wall Deficient Forms"---it will be an eye opener for you. Available on Amazon.com

Also enter "cell wall deficient forms" in Google----you will get more references than you can ever read.

Ask you LLMD about cell wall deficient organisms----BB is one of them----thats 1 of many reasons why its so darn hard to get rid of it.

It actually can surivive in different forms!

Don't buy into the Marshall Protocol!

My LLMD says D plays a huge role in many chronic illnesses. Something new is out there about D, because my doc is constantly researching and he just now decided to try the mega D on me.

Sorry I keep bringing it up; but my latest research, or should I say reading up on D, I think it could be much larger than I first thought in aiding in recovery of LD.

It is generally advisable to be tested before embarking on any major med/supplement.

If your 1,25D is already high, like it is for many/most lymies, it's not logical to take even more. Speaking from personal experience, it will eventually be harmful (q.v. hypervitaminosis D).

I believe it is directly related to lyme just like it is to seasonal flu because my lyme always gets worse in the winter. In fact my symptoms begin to come on when the sun is waning. In the spring, about now, I begin to feel better and better. By summer I think I am nearly cured and then late August it attacks me again.

The LLMD I just went to last week told me not to take D3 because she believes it is inflammatory to people with lyme. I just started taking it about a month ago and I feel much better so it is not bothering me so I will just continue to take it. I life up north where there is just not much sun in winter. I also get seasonal depression which is probably related to D.
