I have been taking Nystatin for a few months now and this morning I woke up to thrush on my tongue.

Can I take a product like Yeast Cleanse with the Nystatin? I take Nystatin in the morning and evening so I would take 6 Yeast Cleanse caps mid-day. These contain Pau'Darco and Tea Tree Oil.

Does anyone know if this is okay to do?

I use liquid Nystatin and also Pau'D Arco tea and tea tree oil... and I use them together sometimes. I don't do the pills but the ingredients individually instead.

BUT.. I can't say if that is appropriate or not. Best check with a pharmacist before you do.

Ok?

BTW- Have you cut out ALL sugar and other yeast promoting foods and drinks?

Me neither.

I did.

Karen... YEAST is VERY hard to keep down when you're on abx long term... VERY.

I took Nystatin every day for 4 yrs and I took Diflucan when things would get out of hand. I've been off abx for 5 yrs and I still battle yeast.

Oh.. and I followed the diet very strictly the whole time I was on abx. (now, I cheat...hey, maybe that's the problem?? [Razz] )

Thanks! I am so careful about what I eat. I have had the flu so maybe my immune system is really not up to speed right now.

I think I'll try some all natural solutions and if they don't work I'll get the clotrimazole mouth tabs. Yeast is a drag!

I can't wait to eventually eat something amazing!!!

Unsure said.. "I have had the flu so maybe my immune system is really not up to speed right now."

That and the ladies time of month, and stress and other things can trigger yeast to "blow up" suddenly even when you try hard to prevent it.
