Has anyone ever had allergy testing for hormonal allergies? Is this helpful? I was told that I am allergic to serotonin (and every single other thing that they tested me for).

Never had hormonal testing but I have had Serotonin syndromes before, bad times. I hope your allergies aren't doing that to you.
How in the world are they going to treat you?! One episode I was on Geodon and Cymbalta at the same time. They d/c'd the cymbalta and I was okay. Now I'm off the Geodon (bad withdrawal sx coming off that) and on Cymbalta.
The weirdest allergy I have is to Gluthatione but I think you got me beat!

I was tested by a technician in my lyme doctor's office. I'm really puzzled by this whole thing. I never noticed myself having allergies before, but since I just can't seem to get 100% well, I want to try everything I'm told to try. But then I run into the money issue. Especially with these sort of sketchy tests that insurance won't cover. I can't afford to do these long-term, shot-in-the-dark type therapies!

Everything is individual. Some consider antibiotics to be "long-term shot in the dark type therapies". I personally believe that allergies to our own "self" be it tissue, hormones, etc. is a component of the disease for many. Not to say that the microbes are not still present, but many things have to be considered and addressed.

Scott, You're right about antibiotics being sketchy therapy for some. I don't like them, but it is certainly easier to find people who have been helped by antibiotic therapy, and to find doctors who back this approach.
I just can't find enough info about the allergy therapy to make an informed decision about it. I guess what you're talking about is the autoimmunity issue.
In the end, what I really wonder is whether it makes sense to spend up to $300/month on allergy desensitization and not know if it has helped for 10 months.
