I have been on the anti-candida diet for 6 months and very successful with it. Then today I ate an entire chocolate croissant. I was so hungry, I couldn't stop myself- I feel awful now.
I hope I don't have an issue now. I feel like this disease is giving me an eating disorder or something- I'm so afraid of yeast infections since I had 6 last year.
I have never had food issues before.

I bet feeling guilty is worse than eating the croissant. Just go back to the Candida diet and forget about it.

You know what....we cannot be perfect all the time and sometimes you need to just feel "normal" and eat the freakin chocolate croissant!!!
For me it was that gluten free vegan chocolate chip cookie I had last night and the guilt was way less then the enjoyment I had eating it
Now just get back to your anti-candida diet and hopefully you will be just fine. TG

I wouldn't worry about it. There is so much fat in those things, and they are actually fairly low in sugar compared to most pastries. Yes, there's white flour, but the fat content should prevent a major glycemic spike. Croissants are loaded with butter.
Don't feel guilty! You were hungry, so you ate! Nothing to feel bad about.
I look at everything as a balance. You gotta balance fat with good carbs, and just as long as you maintain a balance, you can't beat yourself up over a little bit of something refined (flour, white sugar). It's when you tip the balance and go crazy that bad things start to happen.
Candida exists in the body of everyone in low levels, and good bacteria keeps it at bay....you can never fully eradicate it, so just make sure it doesn't get into overgrowth territory and you are doing better than most.

- I hope it was at least a very good one. Nothing worse than a bad one when these events are so rare, eh?
Just put the energy of guilt into an action plan for prevention of a repeat.
Get cocoa powder and stevia for what ever kind of milk (almond milk is great) and have yourself a good cold or hot treat.
But mostly, plan ahead so that you will have real food close by when you need it. Just as important as controlling yeast is eating gluten-free.
Get to know all the Mediterranean and Asian restaurants around and get to know their managers so you can discuss ingredients.
You should not be starving for either food or flavor. A good gluten free, low glycemic diet can be fantastic, actually. -

in the beginning (20 yrs ago) i was super careful it made me thing juice and fruit were poison. the parasite doc made me think anything raw was poison. it took a long time for me to realize theres somegood in aw and most fruits.
now i eat berries and apples and occasioally a pear or even an orange and it dosn't bother me
i still feel sick after candy or baked goods...or alcohol..but don't do that much.
i think if there is a lot of fiber(skin) and very little sugar its ok once in awhile. better to have a little than quit all together

Don't feel guilty. You have to enjoy life. A treat every now and then is reasonable. It's not like you've gone on a week long sugar binge.
My neighbor made me some homemade biscuits tonight. I LOVE biscuits. But I rarely/never make or eat them. So of course I had to have one (with butter!). She made them special for me and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I don't feel guilty.
I guess I would feel guilty if I had eaten the entire batch of biscuits. But then I would probably feel sick too so that would be no fun.

You deserve a treat every once in a while. Don't beat yourself up over it.
I think it's pretty amazing that you've been as self-disciplined as you have.
