I am going through another stage of being absolutely freezing at night. It starts practically as soon as the sun goes down.
I am curious if anyone else experiences this? I am treating Lyme and Babesiosis and know Babesiosis can cause this.

- Any of these tick borne infections can cause this. NIght sweats are most often related to Babesia, though, chills and shivering can sure be, too. And, it can alternate.
Wear socks and a hat to bed. Of course, along with other night clothes, it really helps.
Also, soak your feet in warm water before bed. Run your hand under warm water just before, too. You could also wear gloves. I've done that and it does help.
My eye cover keeps sinus area nice and warm. You have to be cozy, you know ! -

I'm always cold. I get chills during the day and early evening when I feel bone cold. It could be 90+ degrees outside, I could have multiple layers on, nothing will warm me up at that time.
Around 10 or 11pm something changes, all of a sudden I'll feel like my body is on fire. I get so hot, my skin even turns red. Then of course later in the night I wake up with sweats.
It would be nice to feel just warm, not hot or cold all the time.

- With treatment, this will improve. Helpful to manage night sweets:
No synthetic night clothes or bedding. If you used a polar fleece blanket for added warmth when chilled, put it on the top, so you can pull it off if you get too hot.
Even 5% lycra will be too much when going through night sweats. Polyester or microfiber, too. They do not breathe.
100% Cotton night clothes are most easily purchased at LLBean, Lands' End and Vermont Country Store. Cotton sheets and cotton blankets and cotton quilts easy to find with searches.
Microfiber is synthetic and, much like polar fleece, is nice and cozy but horrible during sweats as it does not breathe. -

Thanks Keebler. I no longer have night sweats, just these freezing episodes.
I wear layers of clothes, gloves, and a hat in the house and to bed! Yes, it is cozy.
Soaking my feet before bed sounds like a great idea!

I have that too. I have a heated mattress pad and an electric blanket just on my side of the bed.
Every night about 30 minutes before I go to bed I crank up the blankets so its preheated.
Then when I go to bed I turn it down half way. My husband can't stand it. He says its like getting into a toaster.

I do this too. I get chilled to my core and it takes hours to warm up. Then I wake up hot all through the night.
Sometimes if I take off the cover I will freezing in just a minute or two, then cover up and be hot just as quick. Its so crazy!

it's in ther 50's at night now and i'm under a down bedspread, one heavy wool blanket, one aeroweave blanket, and a sheet.
he gets overheated and throw everything off.
it's a constant battle in the bedroom for covers....

- Use two sets of covers - twins sets of top sheets and blankets. This can work and it makes for better sleep. You can always find a way to cuddle but sleep is important and do whatever you need to for that to work. Even separate beds if that would help.

yep! soon as the sun goes down but only lasts a few hours. It's been up and down with treatment. I also get super hot in the mornign hours from about 8am to 10 am.
I just talked to my LLMD about this because I think it's hormones. He thinks it's the infections but I think we may be saying the same thing. I think the infections are affecting my glands which affect hormone production.
It has gotten a little better since being on IV rifampin and levaquin.
