I have had this for a while but it seems to be getting worse.....

its left ribs but round the back....feels like a permanent bad ache with occasional stabbing pain.....

I thought it was the bugs in my rib muscle but i am not sure....on the searchs seems most people have front rib pain or sternum pain......

what in the world could it be???

gosh, i seem to see a lot of posts lately about left side pain.

I had the left rib pain for a long time (many posts about it) and then came abdominal and pelvic burning, it was very painful it was the first thing to go when I started antibiotics.

I had ultra sounds and ct scan but nothing showed up.

To add a little humour the gastro specialist told me it was probably the underwire in my bra and when i said i dont have underwire so what else could it be he said a lot of women my age have it. End of the consultation.

I want to add that although the rib pain is gone i am still getting severe pains in left flank area abdominal/pelvic burning which i now believe has something to do with digestion.

I think the nerves in my digestive system are screwed up. I did some reasearch on Autonmic nervous system.

It seems to make sense to me if the borrelia is affecting all my other nerves it is highly likely to affect my digestive system.

This is probably no help to you but at least you know that someone else suffered it and still believes it is the lyme.

Good luck.

I've also been dealing with left back/front pain (including the ribs, stabbing/burning much of the time) for many months. I'm still not sure what it is.

I had two large kidney stones removed in December and now am on adrenal meds. I'm not sure if either (or both) helped...

It was debilitating but for now is better although not completely gone.

I'd like to know also!

when i say back ribs its the bottom of my ribs much lower than bra strap but still in rib area......

I have seen a lot of posts with similar so perhaps it is all down to bugs in that area....

also wondered could it be a lymph node issue, spleen but that would be more frontal I think.....or kidney stones but i think its too high for that.......strange and painful I know that.......

Yes, i understand, my was nowhere near the bra that was what made the diagnosis so insane [Smile] .

It was the lower left rib, maybe first or second and the pain is very debilitating. If anyone put thier arm around my waist I would jump a mile.

I think it is mentioned in Dr.B's treatment guidlines. I just looked and could not find it in the guidelines but I know I have read it as a symptom of lyme or co-infections.

Could it be a physical problem where the rib does not move as it normally should ?

i have exactly the same thing. i'd say it was my liver or something. it feels like i'm carrying a football under my rib cage all the time.

and, yes, it wraps around to the back.

all tests come back normal. i know i have large liver cysts and no gallbladder.

it's just a dull aching pain ranging from 1-3 ever single minute of every day. exercise doesn't effect it, nothing does.

Might want to find a chiro who knows how to adjust ribs. The muscles can aggravate the ribs + ribs can aggravate muscles.

Ribs do not move a lot but when they don't they can be pretty painful.
