I am currently in my second year of treatment for lyme, babs and bart. I have been on IV, bicillin shots, and now back on orals

500mg zithro
600 mg omicef
400 mg avelox
2 tsp mepron

and 13 different supplements. My question is my gut has always been fine (for the most part)

I take 2 culturelle and 2 florastor daily in addition to 1 diflucan 40mg

During this last course of antibiotics I have had loose stools maybe once a day. I am on a yeast free/sugar free diet.

Does anyone recommend a different probiotic. I've heard a lot about thermalac. Is this better?

Thanks for the info [confused]

Do you dose the same as culturelle? I don't think I could afford two capsules a day at $42 dollars a bottle.

I also take florastor two times a day.

Thanks for the input

Theralac always lasted me one month.. I took one per day.

Body Biotics is 90 capsules and I plan to take one and some days two. It's $44.95 WITH shipping.

I take Jarro-dophilus, recommended by my LLMD, which is enteric coated and stable at room temperature.

It has a small number of organisms per capsule (about 5 billion each), but I think more of them make it through to the intestines alive.

It doesn't seem terribly expensive compared to some brands, but that depends on how many capsules you take per day. Currently I take 4. If I get diarrhea or stomach trouble, I take some extras and it goes away.

I have also taken the Renew Life Ultra Critical care 50 billion, 1 per day, because it is available to walk in and buy at my local health food store. It is refrigerated, so I tend to forget to take it, and it's inconvenient for traveling, but it seemed to work okay for me.

Bitten 5/25/2009 in Perry County, Indiana. Diagnosed by LLMD 12/2/2009.

You should NOT be taking Florastor with Diflucan. The DIflucan will just kill off the Florastor, so you are wasting your time and $ taking it if you are on anti-fungal drugs. 40 mg of Diflucan is also a very odd dose, extremely small. If you are just taking it for prevention of yeast, you are better off going with the yeast diet, low carbs, no sugar and taking Florastor to prevent c.diff, instead of preventative Diflucan, which is hard on the liver.
Your Zithro and Mepron doses are low, and where is the artemesia?

Theralac is good but it is not in the same category as Florastor. VSL # 3 is probably the best, well studied for potency probiotic.
