OK, here is the story,

When I first got sick, I had TERIBBLE unrelenting nausea. When I finally got diagnosed with lyme, after 3 months of abx, that symtpom completely went away. That was over two years ago.

7 weeks ago, we swithced from azithromyacin, to Ketek, and I stopped the ceftin, although I still do teh bicillin shots. The Ketek is supposed to be much more potents abx. Aside from a herx from hell, I have had remarkably no side affects from the ketek over these last 7 weeks.

But now all the sudden, my nausea is back (its a vegas nerve thing, so standard anti nause meds or ginger don't help at all). For the last week, I am nauseated allmost all day. I'm not having a herx though. I am also not having any problems with yeast, or GI issues. In fact, I just did one of the doctos data lab tests that looks at your gut flora, and remarkably, it looks pretty good (I take a lot of different probiotics every day).

HAve any of you had the experience of having an old symptom return, expecially after a change of meds?

It seems bart might be back-This is a classic symtom of that coinfection. I was on heavy doses of zithro and omnicef when it reared it's ugly head again.

As soon as I started rifampin, it went away within a week.

Hope this helps

I would worry about what the ketek is doing to your liver. Are you getting the liver checked regularly?

yes, I just had bloodwork done for liver two days ago, and have been every two weeks. So far, liver enzymes have reamined normal.

Now I have an outrageous headache too.

I haven't been treated for Bart, we have been just working on lyme and Babesea. The nausea went away two years ago when I started teh ceftin (no other drugs but that for first 5 monhts), so Doc and I assumed nausea was lyme....

Yes, I have had symptoms that I thought were long gone reappear when changing protocols.

I had horrendous nausea from Babesiosis. Are you still treating this?
