My daughter, who is 14, is scheduled for her first appt. with Dr. C on April 1st. We have had her on a gluten free diet and vitamins.
Up until recently most of her symptoms have been fatigue and joint pain. I am starting to get scared though.
Her new symptoms are burning and tingling in her legs and feet. Now, her heart is racing.
What should I do?? I know if I take her to the ER and tell them she has Lyme, I'm afraid they will just dismiss us. Should I just try to wait it out until we can get to the doctor??

I'm sorry, I can't suggest anything except only you can decide that.
I have no idea of what a racing heart is except possibly anxiety. An ER visit may help you feel less helpless.
I don't have children so I'm just winging it here.
Good luck.

I use to have horrible burning and tingling in my legs and feet; even in my arms at times. It gets better with lyme treatment.
As far as the heart racing, you would have to make the call on that. It depends on how fast and how long. It can be serious if your heart rate gets up too high.
My husbands got to 200 beats a minute during a Tachycardia episode. Of course that was a for sure ER visit. It lasted about 30 minutes before he decided to go.
My heart races, but it only lasts for a few seconds, so I don't consider it an ER issue. I know for me that it is a lyme symptom.
I don't have children with lyme either so that is totally different from dealing with it in just myself.
Glad her appt is only 2 weeks away. I hope she gets well quickly!

My suggestion is if you take her to the ER don't tell them she has Lyme. I took my daughter to the ER for horrible head pressure and I made the mistake of saying she was dianosed with Lyme and they called an infectious disease dr and it was a nightmare.
They were saying there was nothing wrong with her and it was all in her head...horrible experience.
But as a mom I know you will be worried until you get everything checked out. So go and let them check her heart and put your mind at ease.
They did give my daughter a CAT scan and that was fine so that did make me feel better. So just to put your mind at ease take her and let them check her heart.
Hang in there and keep us posted...good luck.

Thanks everybody. I feel better just knowing others have had these same symptoms.
Right now she is doing ok. She said that she feels like she can't breath very well when she lays down.
Her heard is not racing right now. It's just on and off.
I wish we were going to the doctor tomorrow!!
I am just going to wait and see. If she keeps having problems, I will probably go ahead and take her.
But I will NOT tell them she has lyme. I don't want in ID duck getting involved.
