Hope some of the gluten intolerant/Celiac's out there can answer this.
It's a pain in the butt being gluten intolerant and having to check EVERYTHING including vitamins and even medication.
I've been on Rifampin before, but that was nearly two and a half years ago and I was not gluten free then.
I found a list online that shows a list of medications that are gluten free, but Rifampin is not on the list, so I have no idea if it's gluten free.
I'm just wondering if any of you out there with gluten intolerance/Celiac has taken Rifampin without any reactions/being glutened? Or if any of you have a list or anything that says that Rifampin is gluten free?
Thanks!

Do you have a compounding pharmacy nearby? I was surprised to find out that the one near us takes our insurance.
I trust them to know if a drug is GF. If it isn't, they can usually make it. If they make it, I have to pay out of pocket and submit to my insurance but it is still covered (at the highest copay).
My daughter did take Rifampin and they made it GF for her. I don't remember if that is because they couldn't determine its GF status or if I just asked them to make it GF.
As many gluten intolerant people as there are here, I bet someone else will have taken the regular one, though.

I would call the pharmacy, and ask them first of all if they know...
....and if not, ask the pharmacy for the manufacturer (if it's generic, otherwise you could look up the manufacturer if it's brand).....and then I'd call the manufacturer and ask them.
They pharmacy might even have a phone number for the manufacturer. But if it's generic, I'd be sure to call the company that makes that exact generic version, not just the makers of the real Rifampin.
Not sure if it will work, but that's the first route I'd try. Good luck!
