The in vitro research at Hopkins last year showed success in killing both the spirochete, round body and biofilm form of Borrelia with a new combination of drugs. All of the drugs tested were FDA approved, so I am wondering if anyone has had experience with the group of drugs, specifically with Daptomycin. It is normally used for people with MRSA in a hospital setting. It is a strong drug with potentially nasty side effects. I've not seen anyone doing clinical trials with it, and am wondering if anyone has used it for lyme.

Dr.H. is using Dap for persistent lyme. I took Dap. + but had no effect on my rate of relapse. If you go on his website he talks about results of his in house study on Dap for patients with persistent lyme.

I've been on Dr. H's Dapsone protocol for several months and have had good results. First thing that's actually worked in the 6 years I've been treating this.

Daptomycin is an IV medication. Also known as Cubicin. Is used for life threatening bacterial infections.
Dapsone (used by Dr.H) is an oral med that is known for its use for treating leprosy.
I've been told that it is nearly impossible to get Daptomycin (Cubicin) without an Infectious Disease doc prescribing it. They want to protect its use.
A few people here have used the Daptomycin IV but stopped following up on their progress. As far as we could tell, they hexed but no one shared any progress made.
One more thought, the persister abx combo study you are referring to is interesting but one must remember that you want a combo to cover all forms of Lyme ideally.
