Have a question for those taking Art.

I took my first dose of Art. this morning. I believe it was 100mg.'s.

Now I am having really bad muscle, bone, body pain. Even my skin hurts - like don't touch me!!!!!

Is it possible to experience a herx reaction this quickly?

I have been on Biaxin - 1,000 mg. for four months.

Since I began pusling 6 weeks ago I started going downhill a bit.

My LLMD suspects that I might have babs. due to the muslce pain, weakness, chills and flushing that is starting to come back.

I was doing really really great on Biaxin full time but since I began pusling I seem to be sliding backwards.

Would love to hear experiences with Art. Thanks.

Yes. Artemesia is quite strong. I don't have typical babs symptoms & I've been in alot of pain since I started treating babs.

If it gets too bad you may want to try cutting back the dosage, do some kind of detox - like clay, psylium, or charcoal. Drink lots of water (with some lemon is good if you have some around). I also take some pain meds to bear it.

I also found that some light exercise can be helpful if you are up to it. I like to swim & it does help.

Thanks Sparkle! Are you taking anything else for babs?

I do find that exercise does help and when I am feeling good enough I get a good hike or run in.

I had been feeling well enough to work out regularly but now I am feeling that terrible muscle bone pain - owch - again.

I feel like some light stretching would feel good. Would love to swim but the chlorine kicks me...

I have some Cholestrymine and natural supp.;s for detox and will stay on top of them. I tend to slack off now and then.

I try not to take pain meds but I do have some in the event I go into the "can't take it anymore" space.

Thanks again for your feedback. TG

Trigal,

I also started Artemisinin yesterday. Took a half-dose (100mg) of Allergy Research Group brand.

Within a couple hours, I noticed I was really itchy and having minor bone pain as well. Then, I had a mini-herx where my visual symptoms became intense (light trails and flashes), and slight vertigo.

It subsided approximately 7 hours after my dose.

I plan on doing the same thing tonight.

Let me add that I find it REALLY difficult to know if a supplement or ABX has caused a herx. I planned on starting Artemisinin last Friday, but didn't. And, then my ABX regimen caused a massive herx that evening.

Had I taken the Artemisinin that night like I planned, I would have blamed it on that.

That's why I'm starting my supplements slower now. Like, adding one supplement every 2-3 days.

Hey Wolfed Out;

I am taking the Allergy Research Group brand as well and took the half-dose of 100mg.s.

So we are both having the same reaction with the bone pain? Mine is pretty intense right now.

Regarding your visual symptoms. I had pretty much chronic flashing ligths for close to 5 years. They have decreased by 75% since Biaxin treatment.

It will be interesting to see if they come back while on Art.

Are you taking anything else?

My LLMD wants to start off with Art to see how I respond but I am now wondering if I need to be on something else in addition to the Biaxin and Art for Bab.s - if I do indeed have it.

I here what you are saying about herx from supp.'s vs. abx.

I don't think mine is from my abx. since I have been on them now for 4 months and typically do not feel my herx's THIS strongly.

I am pusling my Biaxin (which I think I am going to stop and go full time again) and tend to get a very small light herx on a very predictable cycle.

This reaction I am having is way more intense then normal.

Please let me know how you continue to respond to the Art. once it becomes more clear.

Trigal,

Yes, I'm also pulsing Zithromax and Minocycline every other from each other. And, I'm adding in Plaquenil tomorrow.

As far as supplements that I feel have given me the most support, hands down Olive Leaf Extract. I was showing improvement with that before I even started my ABX regimen. I also changed my diet around at that time too, but my visual symptoms have gone from 7 to 2 (on a scale of 1 being good and 10 being bad) within 2-3 months of taking my supplements.

I'm doing well, and I hope you continue to as well!

I'm going to follow Hoosiers suggested protocol for Artemisinin. The discussion is in the thread titled, "Began Zithromax for Bart..."

WO; I do the OLE but not consistantly like I use to. Also like Oil or Oregano.

That is really great news about your vision getting better on the supplements. Says alot....

I will check out Hoosiers suggestions for Art.

It is very odd because I am feeling a decrease in the body/bone/muscle pain, so I am wondering if it has a short half-life?

Anyway hope you continue to make improvement! TG

I have read that the artemesia lasts in the body for about 3 hours. It also builds up in the body after 5 days & it becomes less effective - like if you take 500mg, it is only as effective as 100mg.

I'm not sure how long you are supposed to stop it for before it becomes effective again. I'm not taking abx. I do use a dowsing rod to determine dose & when to take it.

I recently stopped for a couple of days & I took some binders. I like Dr. Schulze's #2 Intestinal Formula.

I've also been taking cryptolepsis extract, noni, Nutramedix quina, Resveratrol, some medicinal mushroom formula, NAC, a green tea extract formula & some other things. I determine the dose & when to take it by medical dowsing.

I think I started with 500mg! I didn't even realize it until I looked at the bottle... Today I took 1/2 a capsule instead. No wonder I felt like hell.

OLE is good but I think it's more for viral issues. I was also taking monolaurin for that. I'm not taking it as much these days.

I did a sauna & steam bath today & it was good. I wasn't feeling up to it for a month or so... No wonder with taking 500mg of artemesia... I just started the artemesia about a week ago but I was taking the cryptolepsis & the quina alternatively. Noni, too.

I think it's important to take a good liver support & anti oxidants. I just started to take astaxanthin again. Anti oxidants are very important when you use artemesia!

In malaria treatment, I think the first dose of artemesia is about 1200mg - then it goes down to 600mg for the next 2 days (if I recall correctly). It's only a 3 day treatment. Maybe it's OK that I was ODing on the artemesia to begin with... I was really in alot of pain, though.
