All Natural Almond Butter

Is this bad for yeast?

I gave up peanut butter... but I LOVE almond butter and didn't want to give that up.

Any yeast experts? : )

Almond butter should be just fine from nuts. However, some folks with certain chronic viral infections have to avoid nuts. You don't seem to be in that category if you do fine with it.

Almonds don't carry mold like peanuts. But be sure what you buy is very fresh and you know exactly where it comes from. Best to buy summer's supply before the weather gets too hot and store in fridge. This is so that the oil stays fresh.

You also don't want to buy any nut butter that has been stored in high heat or is old. If it does not taste fresh, return it.

Never consume any old oils as even a little bit can be a caustic killer to the lining of veins and arteries and, therefore, harm the heart.

I also think there are some peanut butter brands that might be okay. Call and talk to a few different manufacturers about their process. If the peanuts are well tended, it may be fine to give it a try. I do just fine with Trader Joe's organic crunchy peanut butter - but I only have some about once a week.

Besides almond butter, you might want to check out macadamia butter and cashew butter, too. Sesame butter (Tahini) is great to add to a stir fry just before serving.

Oh, I saw that you edited out the sprout part, so I deleted that in my post, too.

I just searched google and see that some almond butter is from sprouted almonds. That can just mean they were soaked up to the point of starting to sprout.

I had envisioned all this sprouts and not the nuts being made into "almond butter" -

Oh . . . is there a store with the name "Sprouts" ? Must be regional. I never heard of it. I'll go look it up.

==========

What a cool site - a Farmer's Market in full color ! I see they are in Texas, Colo., AZ and coming to Calif. Looks like they are very careful to have top quality foods.

Ya, great store [Smile]

Someone just told me if you have a sluggish liver to be careful eating a lot of nut butters.

Will back you up more.

I've been on the anti-candida diet for 7 months and eat almond butter all the time on brown rice cakes- no issues

I consider myself a yeast 'expert'

yes, almonds are the common staple of many candida diets- if you're not allergic to nuts or trying to avoid fats.
