I have had lyme for 11 years and the past two years have been o.k. Only symptoms, leg pain, fatigue, headeaches, not as bad as the past.
But, 2 months ago, I started with pain in my left big toe. At first, I thought I may have hit it, but it did not go away. It proceeded to the joints in my others toes with swelling. I went to the doctor and we both thought gout. We took purine levels, xrays, ultrasound and as I'm waiting for results, swelling is constant, along with pain. Received indomethicin for inflammation and gout?, but after 2 months of swelling and pain, went back to the dr. and it is not gout. Purine levels fine.
Is this the start of some lyme arthritis that I have not experienced before? Does anyone else have this problem or have suggestions in what this may be.
I live in Florida and have a primary and pain management doctor, but have not had lyme doctor in 1 year. At the request of my doctors currently looking for lld. I'm in Jacksonville, Florida.
Does anyone know what this may be? The pressure, pain, and swelling is making me one cr anky, hard to live with (according to my husband), inpatient person. My doctors are stumped. If this was a blood clot, it would have already did its thing.
I have another appointment with my primiary again today. Any suggestions and same. Posts: 3 | From Jacksonville, FL | Registered: Jun 2008

I have lyme-induced reactive arthritis. The pain started in my leg and ankle and my leg was very stiff and ankle was swollen.
You mention pressure in your leg. That may be one of the first symptoms I experienced. Do you have difficulty standing for a while, or your leg feeling tight?
One of the first recommendations was to take fibrolytic enzymes, and that made a huge difference in the tightness.
Does any of this resonate with you?
