I have been off antibiotics for 3 weeks now to treat yeast.

I also started taking walks last week. About a mile to a mile and a half. Slow strolls with my dog just to get out and get some air. Only 2 or 3 times a week.

I started 25 mcg of Levothyroxin yesterday. My body temps seemed to come up a bit yesterday as well. (I'm very sensitive to medications - before Lyme I always took childrens doses).

Last night after I had been asleep for about 45 min, I woke up with both arms tingling and numb and my heart felt like it was pounding and racing.

It continued the rest of the night. BP was 100/70 pulse was 85.
My temp was 98.1 though. First time in I can't tell you how long. I average around 94.2.

Does anyone still have the dreaded 4 week cycle even after stopping antibiotics?

Could this have been from the Levothyroxin and my body temp being up for the first time in years? Bacteria dying off maybe?

I didn't take the Levothyroxin this morning because I still feel bad and aren't sure if its from that.
Both of my hands feel like someone hit them with a hammer today too. Flu-like feelings as well.

Any thoughts would be appreciated or if you've had this happen too.
Thanks!

Many systems in the body do not function correctly if the body temperature is too low. If the thyroid med raised your temp by almost 4 degrees then it is highly likely that that would cause some weird reactions. It is highly unlikely that a temp of 98 or so would kill off any bacteria.

I think it will take a while for your body to adjust to the thyroid meds. You might need to cut the dose in half to start with. But if your heart rate does not calm down then you need to call your doc. An elevated heart rate is one sign of too high a dose of thyroid medication.

I would guess it is the thyroid also. Is this Synthroid? Good to see you on such a small dose but you may be so

sensitive to even have to half that. It is usually a 4-6 week increment to get it up to where it is

supposed to be so be sure and get it checked as often as they asked. In case you need to go higher

or lower. Many experience this if their levels are off really bad.

It also helps to be sure and take at same time

every day. I take it at 5:30 when I get up and

then 4 hrs later I can begin other meds for the day.

Thanks for your replies.

It's the generic version of synthroid. I haven't taken it since, and still have hand pain and flu like feelings.

Very tired and overall body aches. I'm not sick though.

I just don't know what to think. I felt like this when on antibiotics.

Can you still have a herx when not on any antibiotics??

Oh and my thyroid levels are not off. I was put on this to bring my body temperature up.

I have a lot of hypothyroid symptoms but my levels are just fine.

Hummm. I can see him trying you on T3 but not

synthroid if levels are fine. Unless he saw

something in tests to make him suspect

malabsorbtion. Which is possible.

But I don't know just guessing.
