The CPN protocol is very similar to common Lyme treatments. They use Doxy, Biaxin or Zith, Rifampin, and Flagy or Tindamax.
If you were to take this protocol it would hit Lyme, Erlichia, CPN, Mycoplasma, and Bartonella. Some forms of Mycoplasma and Bartonella respond better to quinolones so you might eventually need to try Cipro, Levaquin or Factive instead of Biaxin/Zith.
If you have Babesia you will need to add Malarone or Mepron to the CPN protocol.
My mom has MS and is currently trying a version of the CPN protocol (Doxy and Zith daily). I got a referral to a local doctor from the CPN website.
It is interesting that my mom did not have any herx or flare of symptoms when she started the antibiotics. She will probably be on these meds for at least a year so we'll have to wait and see what happens. Hopefully it will stop the progression of her MS and chronic fatigue symptoms. I would like to see her well again.
