After a sleepless night of pain, I went to my dentist to order a mouth guard. He xrayed and found a serious infection and possible fracture of the root.

Soooo tomorrow I get to have a root canal. And he added another antibiotic (in addition to Bicillin). I recently had a bad skin infection. I wonder if there are bugs at work in me that are not being killed by the Bicillin.

Any thoughts? Wish me luck. Today was my birthday. What a way to celebrate, huh?

Farraday,

I read somewhere recently(can't remember where) that getting a root canal can cause major problems.

They say that is gets infected under the root canal and makes you sick or sicker in your case.

You might want to check into it before proceeding. If I needed one, I think I would just get the tooth pulled, but that's just my personal opinion based on information that I can't remember where to find. [Big Grin]

Thanks, everybody. The dentist did start a new, powerful antibiotic yesterday that I take every 6 hours along with an antiinflammatory to cut down the swelling. We called my LLMD but have not heard back yet.

I have already lost one tooth so I need this one if they can save it. A new implant costs around $4K, which I cannot afford.

And, for sure, I cannot stand the pain this is causing!!! I just want to get it over with. Wish me luck today!

Happy birthday Farraday.

I have so many root canals, there is no way I could pull all those teeth. I don't know how people do that. Even if you could afford the implant, I understand that those can cause problems too.
