Until tonight, when I was reading a thread under medical, I thought "air hunger" referred to that feeling that you just can't take a deep breath. Like inhaling, and never getting air...at least, not enough air.
I have babs, and since I have always associated Babs with air hunger, I have been thinking maybe the Babs is gone now since I haven't had that "trying to get a deep breath" feeling in quite some time.
But, I was reading about excessive yawning and this led me to doing a little more research...Could Air hunger also refer to when you can't stop yawning? Sometimes I will yawn soooo much, it is embarrassing, literally one right after the other. My eyes get all teary eyed and people think I have been crying.
I am wondering who associates this to Babs, or is it just a side effect of meds? Someone else said for them it was part of a seizure...scary.

I don't have that feeling much anymore either after having treated Babesia. I also don't have much Night Sweats either now. Before Malarone I had both.
I also Yawn a lot too. Same thing, yawn, tears in eyes etc. I never thought of it as being connected to my condition though, but now it's obvious. Doesn't bother me per se, but the other symptoms do!

I don't have babesia, that I know of, but I have that symptom too. I think it's also a Lyme symptom, of feeling like we're not taking in enough air/oxygen.

This is my second weekend on Artemisinin for Babs and yawning is frequent and unstoppable. I think this shows that the treatment is working. My chills and air hunger and night forehead perspiring are better too but the yawning, tired feeling and tummy ache seem to go with this med. (taking with bactrim and zith and pulse flagyl.) Of course will need 16 weekends (14 to go) of taking art to be over the first part of Art/babs treatment (since rbc life is 120 days).
It only gets better,
Beachinit.
