ABSOLUTELY .. ALL THE TIME!!! I've bought them there and I've had a friend of mine bring some to me. They're the same drugs we have.. only VERY cheap.
Many "Winter Texans" go across the border constantly and stock up for the rest of the year in their home states!
I can't believe you didn't buy any!!

Isn't it supposed to be illegal to bring prescription drugs into the US from Mexico? Does that mean that it's illegal to bring in medications from any foreign countries?
I get roxithromycin from India, but I never thought about it being "criminal", but what would be the difference where it's from as far as the law goes?

I think that it is legal to buy a small amount for yourself. I don't remember the specifics though.
I used to work with a woman who would travel to Mexico every 6mo or so to buy RX meds (skin creams) that are expensive here.
You do have to be careful about what pharmacy you choose to use. Some are run by true pharmacists, others are questionable. I would assume that this would be a common problem in other countries like India too.
My biggest concern would be counterfeit medicines. Some are simply ineffective sugar pills, others contain harmful chemicals. Scary.
Randibear, they always ask about medications. They also ask on the customs forms that you have to fill out on airplanes when returning home from all foreign countries.

You are allowed 3 months personal use for any prescription medication for which you have been prescribed...and you DO NOT have to present a prescription.
If they ask you if you have been prescribed the medicine by a medical doctor, you must answer "yes" but you are not expected to travel with a prescription between Mexico, US, or Canada.
Mexican drugs work like any drugs in the US or Canada....if you buy them from a pharmacy!

Correct!!!!....IT IS NOT ILLEGAL!!!
Many of the drugs have the exact labels that they do in the US... but most are in Spanish, of course.
