My daughter was just diagnosed a couple of months ago. IgM came up CDC +, IgG-. All of the co-infections came back -.
She has been clinically diagnosed with Babs and Bart, but we're not treating yet because she has had such a hard time with abx.
Her main symptoms are fatigue and GI. She is pretty much bed-bound with her energy level at 15%.
I got her pediatric medical chart yesterday, and the tick removal was at 5 1/2 years old. 2 months later we were back at the doctor with a swollen and very painful foot. The x-ray showed nothing. The diagnosis was a sore foot. Very telling now.
Since that time she has been back at the pediatrician every 3 months or so with odd aches/pains, fevers, headaches, sore muscles etc..
My questions are this:
1) How long do you think she'll be in treatment since she has had undiagnosed Lyme for 11 years?
2) Can Babs and Bart turn up + after beginning treatment? I need a + lab so that my insurance will cover the lab expenses and meds.
3) What works best for someone with her syptoms and diagnosis as far as abx?
Thanks everyone!

Co-infections can turn positive after treatment. Bartonella became positive for me, after several months of antibiotics. As did sore heels...
You could alternatively try retesting using different labs, and see if any positives turn up.
And check for rickettsia (spotted fever) and babesia duncani too, in case you haven't already. Some docs forget to test for those.
