Hi everyone....
Ive made a few postings up here, kind of documenting my treatment. I Have just been approved for IV therapy.

I went to yet another DR, and this was his immediate recommendation. I was receiving IM Rocephin, 1 gram, four x a week. and oral antibiotics on the other days....

The IV people are coming to my house tomorrow to put the line in. I was wondering if any of you could give me good advice on this, as I am not experienced with this sort of thing at all. I was healthy as an ox up until this nonsense, and never went to a DR, unless it was to get stitched up!

I will be getting 2g rocephin /day. I think this is what LLMD's do prescribe as a standard. I have not been given a combo regimen, whatever that may be, but currently, there will only be this heavy dosage for 4 weeks and then more IM therapy....

Can you guys give me some questions I could ask this guy next time I see him? What can you tell me about the IV therapy? DOES THIS STUPID DISEASE EVER GO AWAY?????? WILL I BE CURED??

Lymeboy, I never was on rocephin so can't answer your questions, but I broke up your post and bumped it to the top hoping you'd get answers this time. Many Lymies can't read posts that aren't broken up. [Smile]

I am on IV rocephin 2g a day and have been since Dec. 22. I also take clarythromicin. My daughter, 20, is also on the rocephin IV 2g

daily. I started to feel better, not well just better, in Feb. My daughter start her IV on Jan 11th. I really feel the regular rocephin has

made a huge difference in our lives. I am up walking, talking and I can see again. Best benefit is no more brain fog. My daughter has

also experienced less brain fog. We both have days of being tired and achy. We started treatment in Sept. on different orals but

nothing kicked anything out or stirred things up until rocephin and that took 2 months to kick in. Now the Lyme is really on the run in my

daughter, moving all around. This is what I have been waiting for.

I was really worried about the IV not so much for me but for a 20 year old living on her own. Things have gone really smoothly with no

problems at all. We keep our sites dry and change bandages every week. She had to switch to a allergy bandage but that was it. We used to

do weekly blood tests and that was a bit crazy. Every week our counts were bouncing. One day WB was 2.1, next week it was 3.7 once she got as

high as 4.1. I have never gotten that high on the counts but I am feeling much better. Stick with it, rocephin is our saviour. Good luck

and remember, if my 20 yr old daughter can pull this off you can too.

That is hopeful.... how about the four weeks? I am wondering if that is too little. After the 4 weeks of IV, I have been recommended for additional IM and oral RX. What do you think?
